Do you have the experience needed to clarify and mitigate risks related to the power plant industry? Do you also have in-depth knowledge of commercial insurance and how it applies to major infrastructure contracts?

Then you could be BWSC’s Risk and Insurance Manager – a position which allows you to apply your expertise to a world-class engineering and contracting company that builds power plants around the globe.

Areas of responsibility
As Risk and Insurance Manager you will support BWSC in implementing a system that identifies, evaluates and mitigates risks. In addition, the you will be responsible for ensuring that the proper insurance policies are obtained, maintained and negotiated.

Main responsibilities include:

  • driving risk management processes across BWSC and identify, consolidating and managing the risks associated with our project portfolio

  • supporting the project directors as they conduct risk management throughout a project’s life cycle

  • developing, establishing and maintaining best risk management practices and associated tools and processes for risk management

  • being responsible for the company’s insurance requirements (general corporate) as well as its projects (construction, short to long term service contracts and investments)

  • being responsible for insurance claims for BWSC employees and for management group members

  • reporting on and developing know-how and knowledge systems for the insurance function

  • training colleagues in BWSC on basic aspects of insurance and awareness of insurance issues

  • supporting the Legal function and HR department at BWSC

You have a master’s in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or a similar relevant degree plus professional qualification in insurance (e.g. a diploma programme). You have experience (5-10 years) working with risk management within complex EPC projects (e.g. product, infrastructure or investment projects) as well as solid knowledge of contract management.

In addition to above qualifications, we are seeking an assertive, self-motivated candidate who can drive complex processes. Other qualities we seek include:

  • A systematic approach to your work tasks with high focus on details and quality

  • Strong communication and networking skills, so you can proactively build support for and train colleagues in this crucial area across the organization

  • Fluent, professional English language skills. Danish and other language skills (e.g. French and Spanish) will be considered an asset.
