Due to a recent restructure, we are currently recruiting for the position of Head of IT EMEA based in our Teddington Office, London, United Kingdom.

The Head of IT EMEA is responsible for ensuring a value based partnership and highly productive results between Hansen’s IT organisation and its internal and external customers. This is accomplished through the in-depth understanding of Hansen’s global business, industry and trends, establishing department goals and objectives, and translating the business needs into technical solutions. This role will also oversee the delivery of IT services, projects and processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction for the EMEA Region.

This role will act as the CIO delegate in this region and be responsible for the IT Services team in the United Kingdom, Denmark, Norway and Helsinki.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership

  • Participate in Hansen’s business strategy planning process, continuous business operations planning and the development of respective business plans
  • Maintain the technology roadmap for Hansen’s IT Services and work with the Global Head of Projects and Architecture to foster its integration into an enterprise wide global technology roadmap
  • Identify and define new services to support Hansen’s business needs, determine their implications and enable actionable steps within the respective zone
  • Act as the CIO delegate for the EMEA Region.

Stakeholder Management

  • Lead stakeholder engagement initiatives with the objective to improve Hansen’s services and business growth and participate in major initiative solution design and planning
  • Team with Hansen’s senior Business Group and Global IT Leadership Team (ITLT) to ensure a timely, accurate and cost effective solution to appropriate fulfill business and customer needs
  • Establish goals and objectives for Hansen’s Departments and coordinate workflow, monitor progress and take corrective action if goals are not being met
  • Work with the Global Leadership Team to assist with service demand/performance planning and refine Service Level Agreements (SLAs) based on business need
  • Assist the region stakeholders in achieving business process compliance as defined in their respective scorecards

Engagement and Communication

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal customers, external customers and other stakeholders by integrating customer business intelligence with stakeholder engagement activities
  • Influence organizational direction and context around IT infrastructure development at an enterprise level management and the business partners
  • Act as the key liaison between Hansen’s business groups and IT Organization
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the business to better define and plan IT-enabled transformation on process improvement opportunities
  • Maintain contact and communication with all ITLT and other key stakeholders to ensure conformance with set requirements of each project and customer expectations
  • Promote business projects and value to the ITLT
  • Assist internal and external users/customers in using products and resolving/escalating user and technology problems
  • Contribute to effective management of day-to-day team activities to achieve both customer and Hansen’s business objectives
  • Work with the Global Head of Projects to:
    • Determine compliance implications of policies, procedures and regulations
    • Recognize and progress the requirements to balance risk, cost and compliance, appropriate for industry and regulating environment
    • Provide periodic reporting to CIO and other key stakeholders

Program/Project Management

  • Engage with the Global Head of IT Projects to ensure that IT investments and project initiatives are aligned with Hansen’s business strategy, priorities and maintain a continuous engagement
  • Negotiate IT services and business commitments, such as project scope, and work with the Global Head of IT Projects to determine potential business benefits realization, technology options and to assist in the development of metrics used to track project value delivery
  • Work with the ITLT to determine cost, constraints and propose alternatives to the business
  • Manage Business Requirement Identification and Definition
  • Work cross-functionally across the organization globally, to gather feedback and requirements from end users
  • Collaborate closely with the Design team to provide advice on service, solution and requirement analysis, design, planning, estimation and implementation approach of new solutions and verify that they meet the requirements of the business and can achieve the expected outcomes

Team Management

  • Manage and support all team activities
  • Perform regular quality and performance auditing of the team and ensure adherence to SLAs
  • Perform people management activities including workload scheduling, professional development and performance management
  • Staff Development
  • Ensure team aligns and executes to global standards

Key Skills and Attributes
Technical skills

  • 15+ years of IT business management experience, inclusive of at least 2 years of prior related project management experience
  • Strong leadership skills for both direct and indirect reports of teams > 25 people.
  • Experience in multi-functional IT business with a global focus strongly preferred
  • Experience in managing internal and/or external customer relationships with the ability to quickly establish rapport and trust even in difficult situations
  • Knowledge of product management concepts and how enterprise software products are positioned and developed
  • Experience in managing outsource environments or working in outsource environments both from a supplier and/or customer view point

Travel

  • Occasional travel may be required to other Hansen support centres based primarily in London, Denmark and Norway. The role might also require travel to Australia or the USA.
