We are looking for the right person to fill the position as Lead Engineer Aux. Systems – electrical being part of the Electrical Infrastructure & SCADA organization within Offshore in Business Area Wind. The Lead Engineer Aux. Systems – electrical will be working across the portfolio and lifecycle of the wind farm fleet with changing assignments to different projects in the development, execution and operations phase.

The Lead Engineer Aux. Systems (electrical) is expected to:

  • Be the technical authority for delivering electrical and automatization auxiliary system packages across the lifecycle of the plant and across the portfolio of wind farms. More specifically:

• Ensure delivery of electrical and automatization auxiliary system packages during the product phase in a roadmaps up installation & commissioning in delivery projects.

• Be point of contact for technical matters on the auxiliary systems during operations supporting the O&M organization.

  • Be part of the engineering department to ensure that the portfolio of offshore grid connections guarantee highest safety and availability over the whole lifecycle.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Senior Lead Engineer for Aux. Systems and the Lead Engineer for Aux Systems – process/mechanical forming a group with a holistic approach to aux. systems.
  • Include activities as described in below responsibilities to ensure early and permanent involvement of the engineering team into all technical questions in regard to auxiliary systems by all departments of BU Offshore Wind.
  • Manage progress and communication with supplier of respective package throughout the delivery phases till handover to generation.
  • Quality control in auxiliary system documentation i.e. feasibility studies, concept and design documentation and detail engineering.
  • Understand and know about interfaces of on- and offshore aux. systems and their dependencies.
  • Support and handle detail engineering of different cooling systems, HVA/C, fire-fighting systems, material handling, anti-fouling systems, drain, diesel generator systems, sewage and freshwater systems, etc.
  • Support the development and maintenance of employer’s requirements and standards.
  • Handle internal interfaces i.e. towards the project directors and roadmap engineer.
  • Be point of contact for suppliers in all auxiliary system related questions.
  • Ensure a proper implementation of systems by witnessing on-site inspections and project discussions.
  • Conduct various interfaces between auxiliary systems as well as towards electrical systems.

Experience and Qualifications Background:

  • Bachelors/Masters electrical engineering degree.
  • Minimum 10 years of work experiences thereof 5 years of relevant offshore wind experience.
  • Good technical and standard requirement understanding like norms and offshore rules for auxiliary systems.
  • Must have a strong understanding of the HSE principles applying to the offshore industry and be committed to always seek to improve the standards.
  • Have a good understanding of offshore wind projects and relevant offshore technologies such as automation, process technology, SCADA, safety systems, and control systems.
  • Have a good understanding of the safe and high availability operation of offshore grid connection systems.
  • Business level English language ability, written and spoken.

  • Well organized and a structured work approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to function well in an international team environment.
  • Deep knowledge of the technical aspects needed to instruct and answer contractors.
  • An accountable person who can make appropriate decisions even under challenging circumstances.
  • A genuine interest in renewable energy and environmental issues.
  • Certified for offshore work.

The location of this position is flexible, preferably in London, Hamburg or Kolding. Regular business trips are required.
