A position as academic staff (ATAP) is available in the group of Associate Professor Lars Grøntved at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Southern Denmark. The position is for ca. 1½ years with an ideal start date 1 March 2020.

The Grøntved group investigates molecular mechanisms controlling hepatic chromatin organization and transcriptional networks. We use different diet-regulated mouse models combined with various genomics-based technologies such as snRNA-seq, snATAC-seq and ChIP-seq to understand the connection between metabolism, genome-wide chromatin organization and transcriptional regulation.

We seek a highly motivated person with a strong scientific background and track record in eukaryotic transcriptional regulation. The successful candidate should hold a master’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry and/or cellular biology with specific interest in eukaryotic transcriptional regulation. Prior experience with mammalian cell cultures, RNA expression analysis, qPCR, ChIP as well as animal work is preferred. Candidates with experience in genome-wide technologies such as ChIP-seq and RNA-seq are encouraged to apply.

The applicant is expected to contribute to the departmental teaching and to support the department’s general functions and infrastructure. Moreover, the applicant will coordinate experiment with mouse cohorts at the biomedical laboratory, OUH, SDU and will administer next generation sequencing performed by the Grøntved group.

For further information, please contact: Lars Grøntved (larsgr@bmb.sdu.dk).

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
