Student Assistant for financial risk management platform

Country: Denmark
Working hours: approx 15 hours a week
Application deadline: 2020-02-05T23:59:59.0000000
Workplace: Gentofte

Do you want to combine your coding skills and theoretical knowledge within finance to assist us in developing the best risk management platform?

Join us and become Student Assistant in Risk Models & Development where you’ll influence decisions and handle tasks on your own, thereby contributing with your knowledge and expertise. You and your colleagues will be responsible for developing and supporting our in-house developed system for measuring financial risks for the total group portfolio – ranging from wind farm and power plant production to trading activities and customer sales.

The system delivers performance measurements on trading activities, Value-at-Risk, valuation of derivatives and calculation of risk exposures. As a team, we ensure the stability of the daily operations and reporting, and we look ahead to match the organisation’s international growth ambitions. Furthermore, we’re responsible for ensuring that appropriate models are used.

Your key tasks will be to

  • design, develop, validate and maintain modules and tools in Python, SAS and VBA
  • apply your technical skills to continuously improve and optimise our platform
  • update our credit spread curves for mark-to-market calculations and assist in various ad hoc analysis and development tasks.

Your competences include that you

  • are currently studying for an HA(mat.) (BSc in Business Administration & Mathematics), a BSc in Mathematics-economics, a BSc in Mathematics and Technology, Actuarial Mathematics or similar and have at least two years left before graduating
  • have hands-on experience with coding, e.g. Python, SAS, SQL, R, VBA, C++ or similar
  • can handle several tasks simultaneously and thrive in an agile and changeable environment
  • have a basic understanding of financial instruments and a technical mindset
  • speak and write English fluently.

You prosper in an informal, yet professional environment with high standards for solutions, and you’re curious and willing to learn from colleagues and stakeholders. You can work both independently, but also as part of a team. Finally, you’re eager to apply your theoretical skills in a real-world setting, as well as using your coding skills to solve the issues at hand.
