Here is the opportunity to embark on a journey of launching a new biologic treatment for osteoporosis!

UCB Nordic is looking for a Medical Science Liaison responsible for a new innovative biologic product across the Danish and Norwegian markets. The position is a field-based scientific expert who works externally and internally, and closely with the Nordic integrated team across functions.

As Medical Science Liaison at UCB Nordic you will be the key scientific discussion partner who interacts with national and international Thoughts Leaders (KOLs), and other healthcare professionals (HCPs). Core content of these discussions will be topics of unmet medical needs which are of scientific/developmental importance to UCB in bone/osteoporosis.

With direct report to Ecosystem Lead Nordic.

You will be responsible for:

  • Functional Expertise. Leverage strong functional expertise (scientific, clinical, disease states, and therapeutic area) to support tactical execution of key UCB medical strategies. Demonstrate scientific leadership by contributing to scientific conferences, medical meetings and advisory boards
  • Prepare and deliver medical and scientific presentations. Utilize scientific expertise to gather medical insights and to support research/data generation initiatives. Engage with guideline development and revision through scientific exchange and support
  • Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement. Develop and manage KOLs including KOL identification, engagement and support. Maximize site performance through engagement with investigators as appropriate
  • Business Ownership. Frequently communicate with field level counterparts from sales and market access. Design and execute local eco-system’s medical plan. Provision of scientific updates to peers. Ensure completion of administrative and planning duties in line with Medical Affairs guidance
  • Actively participate in team calls and meetings, and transform customer insights into actions to deliver superior and sustainable customer value and impact. Understand and influence a wide range of stakeholders; proactively collaborate and network with internal partners regionally and share insights and best practices across the team
  • Consistently demonstrate understanding and adherence to company policies, procedures and ABPI Code of Practice through appropriate communications and interactions with internal colleagues and external customers

Your qualifications include a minimum of +3 years of experience as MSL or Medical Advisor within the industry or experience as a healthcare professional. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and are effective in communicating and presenting, focusing on delivering patient value and impact, always in a patient-oriented manner. Preferably you have experience with product launches and perhaps even within the area of osteoporosis or immunology.

You demonstrate business acumen and have an in-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare arena and you can clearly articulate complex scientific and clinical data in 1:1 and group settings. You possess strong multi-tasking, time management, and project-management skills.

Furthermore, you have excellent command of written and spoken Danish and English and you are able to understand and make yourself understood in Norway.

You have a Master’s Degree within the scientific field as Medical Doctor, Pharmacist, Biologist or equivalent and preferable a PhD.

You are a person who is able to take initiative, work independently and collaborate within a team. You have a high level of energy and drive, a creative mind-set, can-do attitude and hands-on problem-solving skills, while being able to think strategically. Travelling: You have the flexibility and willingness to travel extensively, both nationally and internationally (25% office based, 75% field based).
