Global Data Center Connectivity Project Manager




Facebook is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Global Data Center Connectivity (GDCC) team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our innovative services are delivered, and our rapidly scaling infrastructure operates. The GDCC team lights up Facebook’s global data centers, delivering the physical infrastructure that connects the world to the videos, feeds, and other information stored on Facebook’s server banks. The GDCC Project Manager will provide site level project management to ensure GDCC projects are being executed on schedule and within budget with high quality. The Project Manager will manage the full project life cycle for projects related to our data center builds, improvements and operations. The role is highly collaborative with our on-site contractor team and cross-functional teams at the Data Center. The Project manager will act as a key interface to the Program Management teams, and work with other Data Center teams globally. This position is full-time and located in Odense, Denmark. GLOBAL DATA CENTER CONNECTIVITY PROJECT MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Planning & Control - Create, maintain and report on site project and program scope, schedules and milestones. Work closely with the Program Management team throughout the project lifecycle from the creation of project and program plans through project close out.
  • Delivery - Assure on site delivery and maintenance of all structured cabling and connectivity, on time, within budget, and to corporate standards of quality, reliability, and uptime. Leads on site progress meetings with project teams, contractors. Identify and manage risks, schedule, budget. Ensure execution progresses per plan with support from Field engineers. Track and manage project change orders.
  • Learnings - Continually review ongoing projects for efficiencies in schedule, budget, and opportunities to enable cross-functional partners to be successful. Document data points to assist with field coordination of projects. Support development of project management best practices and initiatives, coordinating SOPs/SIPs with vendors, and participating in global and regional standards. Coordinate lessons learned with the GDCC Program management team.
  • Forecasting - Manage forecasting and budgets with leadership and work with project controls as required.
  • Technical Reviews - Assist with the selection and review of a contractor to support the structured cabling work within a data center. Help manage Design and Bill of material reviews with engineers.
  • Materials - Manage and plan procurement of Owner furnished materials for site projects and operations working with supply chain and Engineers towards project milestones.
  • Metrics - Report progress and risks on site projects and other initiatives to key stakeholders. Manage data metrics, such as forecast, schedule, quality and safety performance.
  • Workflow - Conduct pre-project planning, project handoffs, and ensure design delivery and verification. Respond to project risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively through effective action and appropriate escalation.


  • 5+ years professional experience in project or construction management.
  • Documented experience in oversight of timelines and budgets for complex projects.
  • Detail oriented, able to provide solutions to complex problems.
  • Experience overseeing contractor teams work and suppliers towards the same project goals.
  • Experience in coordination across multi-disciplines for delivering a common goal.
  • Experience and ability to manage people in relation to projects and operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.
  • Proficiency with MS package (MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)


  • PMP or similar project management related certification.
  • Experience with Primavera P6.
  • ISP (Inside Plant) OSP (Outside Plant) structure cabling experience.
  • Knowledge of cabling technologies and standards is desired.
  • Experience in Data center construction or Telecom/Electrical infrastructure management.
