2 Mass Spectrometry Specialists to the Proteome Research Infrastructure (PRI) at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (CPR)

Københavns Universitet (KU)

Ph.d. & forskning

Advanced mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics is a key method in modern life sciences. The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center of Protein Research (CPR), located at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, is among the world-leading institutes for this technology, hosting four different research groups focusing on its development and application to fundamental and clinical research.
In addition, the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences is currently establishing a new top-quality service facility for MS-based proteomics – The Proteome Research Infrastructure (PRI) - that provides the technology to both academic and industry users of the Copenhagen area and beyond.

To support and maintain the mass spectrometry (MS) and ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) instrumentation at CPR and PRI, we are searching for two qualified Mass Spectrometry Specialists.

The proteomic platforms of CPR and PRI will be closely associated in the same building guaranteeing seamless exchange of personnel, material and lively scientific communication. The research environment at CPR and PRI is vibrant, ambitious, and international, with many different nationalities represented.

Duration: The positions are temporary and for a period of two years.

Job description and qualifications
The selected candidates are expected to work as a team member to provide mass spectrometry equipment support and expertise for maintaining and developing the MS instrument park at the highest international level. Together the CPR and PRI will host up to 16 high-end UHPLC-MS setups of the newest generation. All instruments are used in a 24-7 mode of operation.

The selected candidates will receive training and support from the existing MS specialists at the CPR proteomics platform and will directly refer to either the CPR platform leader or PRI director, who can prioritize among the listed tasks when necessary. The working language is English.
