Danfoss Drives is looking for an Application Software Engineer, who has the drive and talent it takes to develop software and control algorithms for motor drives. You will be part of Power Electronics, Product Development, where we work with new generation tools and cutting-edge knowledge within model-based design, including automated code generation. We work closely together with our firmware team and test engineers on contributing to optimizing our existing product portfolio and developing new products. We are 9 employees with profiles such as PhD’s and MSc’s in the department.

Your overall mission will be to participate in and contribute to various product development projects and to ensure that our products have a solid and robust design and that there is a high level of quality throughout the entire product lifespan. You will contribute to both the progress of the technical work and the development of projects, as well as the development of new functionalities based on models, simulations and measurements. The position entails some travelling, approximately 15 days per year.

If you are our new colleague, a challenging job will await you in an international environment, where you will develop yourself technically as well as personally. For the right person, we will provide support regarding relocation to Denmark.

Background and skills
There are more than one way into this position. Depending on your seniority and experience, we tailor your tasks and offer you the opportunity for further development and/or a wider scope of responsibility. To succeed, you hold a MSc in electronic engineering or alike, and you have advanced knowledge in:

  • Software Engineer with Control experience.
  • Software design (preferably for embedded devices).
  • Digital signal processing & mathematical modeling.
  • Modern and classical control theory.
  • Model-based design and agile software development.
  • Test strategies.
  • PLC/IEC61131-3 programming.

You have documented knowledge and strong experience in Software Engineering & Mathwork/Simulink tools that is our primary development tool, or you could be a new graduate brought up with the right training. You thrive on solving technical problems both independently and together in a team. You possess a holistic overview, and, even under pressure, you still manage to work on several fronts in a persistent and goal-oriented manner. You are open-minded and good at interacting with others, and you enjoy cooperating across borders and cultures. Furthermore, you communicate well in both written and spoken English.
