Role purpose:

Coordinate the quality and governance function within the defined Geographical Area(s) to ensure that governance is effective, accreditations held are controlled and effectively managed.

Coordinating with product specialists and other managers, provide technical insight, guidance, specialist knowledge and support to facilitate product development, process change, help to ensure service delivery meets expected requirements and the business goals are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate the technical, quality and governance function and activities across the Area. Working with the management team, Technical Managers and other stakeholders coordinate the local activities, reporting requirements related to the local team.

Ensure that required technical standards are maintained and align to the local and global strategic and commercial needs. Provide feedback and recommendations to Global and Area Management Teams and other Management Systems departments to share best practice and ensure processes are effective.

Provide technical support and interpretation of legislation and management system processes, products and procedures to the area technical and operations teams, Service Delivery communities and other management systems departments.

Coordinate with the Technical Managers to ensure that the systems, processes and procedures are effective and efficient, are communicated, objectives are defined and reported on to meet business/ commercial requirements for both internal and external clients for area of responsibility.

Within authorised area of specialism, undertake complex / tailored business assurance assessments to the agreed budget utilisation, maintaining assessor competence and professional registrations.

Support delivery of the “Cutting the tail project” reviewing sustainability of local accreditations and resulting local products.

Coordinate the governance and system monitoring activities within the Area, support local/global accreditation requirements, LR management systems corporate governance e.g. Internal audits, management review etc., as planned by and in cooperation with the Area Technical Manager. Ensure that all audits are planned and reported through MKI to ensure that information is available globally. Oversight the MKI actions to ensure that responses are actioned to SLAs.

Support the management of change, development of new products, management of local products and maintenance of accreditations within the Area of responsibility. Ensure that there are clear and effective local accreditation management plans in place that describe the business and management responsibilities, authorities and outcomes necessary for managing the accreditation relationship and delivering the requirements.

Monitor service delivery to ensure high service standards, technical knowledge and interpretation meet expected requirements (e.g. through accompanied visits, internal audit, technical review, stakeholder feedback, coaching, formal training, or other appropriate development mechanism), reviewing complaints and providing feedback as appropriate in order to support professional development.

Where appropriate, participate in the recruitment, training and development of assessors. Support the development of learning plans, reviewing assessor competencies for specific industry/business sectors and authorise the allocation of codes, consulting with colleagues as appropriate.

Within remit, monitor new and updated standards, accreditation/oversight rules, legislation, codes of practice etc., providing advice and disseminating information via the most appropriate media. Representing LR on appropriate external committees and forums, taking every opportunity to build LRQA’s brand and reputation in the industry

Assess the risks and work in a safe manner at all times, robustly implementing health and safety rules, instructions and systems and refuse to undertake work that compromises your safety or health.

Report in a timely manner all incidents including near miss and safety observations (NMSO), accidents and injuries and raise any health and safety concerns with your line manager.

Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements:

Degree or equivalent qualification with significant management experience within a technical area of specialism preferably in an international, B to B, professional services environment.

Expert technical knowledge of appropriate industry sector and relevant legal/regulatory framework

Extensive knowledge of LR products, services, processes and systems and an understanding of LR BA’s competitive advantage

Customer focused with the ability to build sustainable, operational and commercial relationships and alliances

Excellent verbal and written communicator who is able to convert complex processes into simple procedure, outcome and behaviour statements

Experience of designing and delivering training would be an advantage

Commercially astute, can effectively balance quality, governance and technical integrity and commercial viability

Influence skills to enable agreement to ideas through influence and persuasion, is confident and assertive and respected by assessors and technical managers

Enthusiastic, flexible and results orientated approach with a ‘can do’ attitude
