The Role

Genmab is expanding and working on becoming a fully integrated biotech company and to support this strategy, the IT area is expanding. In order to enable Genmab to operate in an efficient and compliant manner by providing IT solutions and services that enhance productivity and innovation, the ccooperate IT function is undergoing a modernization effort to better serve the business, support company growth and expanding the IT organization, including a Head of IT Infrastructure and Operations (IT I&O) to join the team in Copenhagen.

As the global Head of IT Infrastructure and Operations you will be accountable for IT I&O throughout the organization. The Head of I&O is responsible for the delivery of all IT infrastructure and related IT operations used to enable business capabilities and services across the enterprise. This includes infrastructure on premise, in our colocations data centers and cloud partners. It also includes our local and wide area networks. Operations not only includes infrastructure, but also deskside support and IT service management.

The Head of I&O brings current knowledge and future vision for transforming the I&O function including its strategy, service offerings and workforce. The role holder is accountable for sourcing partners to provide services across infrastructure and operations.

As a key member of the IT leadership team (ITLT) this role contributes to the development and execution of the enterprise wide IT strategy and is responsible for ensuring I&O strategy is fully aligned with our future state Services based operating model, positioning I&O to deliver compelling business value.

The Head of IT infrastructure and Operations will be managing a global team and report to the Corporate Vice President, Global Head of IT.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this role will be, but not limited to:

  • Set the mission, vision, and strategy of the I&O organization to maximize the success of business and IT enterprise initiatives
  • Introduce innovative, differentiating infrastructure and operations capabilities that enhance our overall competitive capabilities and enhance employee productivity
  • Work with the IT senior leadership team on the service portfolio and governance required to prioritize resources, including budget
  • Build successful stakeholder relationships with other IT and business leaders by developing a clear understanding of business needs, acting as a trusted advisor, and ensuring cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs
  • Partner with the Global IT Partner group and Enterprise Architecture and Services to create and aligns an I&O value map by linking targeted business outcomes with the future-state business capabilities required to achieve them
  • Develop and control the annual I&O budget to ensure that it's consistent with the overall strategic objectives of IT and the enterprise and is within plan
  • Define, develop and manage a comprehensive and integrated ITSM landscape, based on ITIL best-practice processes, disciplines and related toolsets.
  • Collaborate with the CISO to ensure I&O embrace and apply security strategy
  • Operate a formal governance mechanism to establish and monitor effective controls for the processes and functions performed by I&O teams. Supports periodic reviews via IT and Compliance internal audits and external reviews as required
  • Leverage influencing and negotiation skills across IT and the enterprise to enable cost-effective and innovative shared solutions in the achievement of business goals
  • Provide direction on what emerging technologies should be incorporated into I&O products and services to successfully deliver overall IT strategy
  • Champion I&O involvement in the IT organization's innovation efforts and its role in experimenting with new solutions to take advantage of business opportunities
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for the full life cycle of design, development, operation and support of IT systems
  • Direct the development of an I&O sourcing strategy and provides executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management
  • Develop the maturity of I&O to improve efficiency, deliver new innovations and increase service value (e.g., through Agile and DevOps)
  • Drive the adoption of (and commitment towards) service improvements
  • Serve on ITLT for strategy development, planning and policymaking; drives the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, information systems, related field or equivalent work experience
  • 8 or more years of experience in IT or technical business/industry field of work
  • +3 years or more years of leadership responsibilities, including strategy, budgeting and staffing
  • Knowledgeable in how to apply I&O capabilities to achieve regulatory or statutory GXP compliance requirements.
  • Expertise in establishing and improving IT Service Management as well as other working practices (e.g., ITIL).
  • Demonstrated experience of influencing key stakeholders across the organization and within complex contexts
  • It is required for the role-holder to have knowledge and skills managing the technology areas such as servers, storage, cloud, tools and networks
  • Preferably proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex, dynamic environments where agile, SaaS, and/or cloud was applied at scale
  • Experience with cloud technologies, ideally with cloud strategy, migration and value measurement
  • Demonstrated experience in managing global teams.

  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate an I&O vision that inspires and motivates staff and aligns with the IT and business strategy
  • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills
  • Strong business acumen, including industry, domain-specific knowledge of the enterprise and its business units
  • Ability to build consensus, making decisions based on many variables, and gain support for major initiatives.
  • Strong sense of self, ethics and effort, as well as the willingness to go the extra mile to achieve important goals.
  • Ability to develop staff including coaching, mentoring and performance management.
  • You are result-and goal-oriented and committed to contributing to the overall success of area of IT and Genmab
