External lecturer on corporate sustainability with a particular focus on sustainability reporting

A position as external lecturer on corporate sustainability with a particular focus on sustainability reporting is available by 1 August 2020. Applicants will be assessed on their practical and theoretical knowledge and qualifications regarding corporate sustainability, reporting practices, materiality assessment and corporate communication more broadly – in line with the educational profile of the Department of Management, Society and Communication.

The position is on a temporary part-time basis and limited to three years with a possibility of 2 extensions of three years each.

MSC’s research and teaching addresses the dynamic relations between business and society and the responsible management thereof. To this end, MSC mobilises a wide range of expertise within management and business disciplines as well as the broader social and human sciences, organized in three interconnected research environments: CBS Sustainability; Centre for Business and Development Studies; the Communication, Organisation and Governance Research Cluster.

The position includes

  • Teaching in corporate sustainability and sustainability reporting
  • Student supervision
  • Preparation of teaching material and exam questions
  • Participation in exams
  • Other


The position usually requires a master's degree and further qualifications (special skills), special practical experience or other special qualifications at a high level. Practical and relevant teaching experience is desirable. Teaching-related qualifications will be included in the assessment.

Specialized knowledge in sustainability reporting is required.


Salary and employment take place in accordance with the circular regarding external lecturers at universities, etc. under the Ministry of Education. The number of working hours is a maximum of 500 hours per academic year and may vary during the semester. The number of hours will be determined twice a year and the employee will be paid in accordance with this.

In connection with employment as an external lecturer, the future employee must accept to take a pedagogical course organised by CBS (only if the employee is not able to document participation in pedagogical courses or experience during the first year of employment) and participate in lecturer meetings.
