Novo Nordisk A/S

Category: Manufacturing Location: Kalundborg, Region Zealand, DK

Would you like to drive ambitious goals to successful completion? Would you enjoy being professionally challenged every day and ensure that quality issues are handled timely - to maintain a stable delivery of products to a growing market? Right now, we are offering at least six different supporter positions in very complex and intriguing manufacturing setups with lots of opportunities for personal and professional development. We use our quality mindset, productivity knowledge and our problem-solving skills to make sure that everything works as efficient as possible, utilising the many opportunities of contemporary technology.

About the department
At our site in Kalundborg, nearly all of the Novo Nordisk products are manufactured, refined, packed or handled in other ways. Our processes range from fermentation of cell cultures that express active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) over recovery, purification, formulation and filling to packaging and the final distribution to 180 countries. The site covers manufacturing factories, dedicated purification plants, filling, assembly and packaging facilities besides all the laboratories and offices that support them. Here, different kinds of supporters are essential in validating our initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory demands, problem solving, timely optimisations and generally maintaining a safe and stable production, while making us ready for an ever-changing future.

Right now, we are looking for at least six supporters experienced with the technical aspects of fermentation, recovery, purification, characterisation and filling processes. Your expertise and interests will determine exactly which of the positions you may be considered for, please state your preferences and motivation in your application. No matter which team you will join, we have good reason to promise you dedicated and proficient colleagues, eager to welcome you and share their ideas, knowledge and challenges.

The job
Your primary task will be supporting a complex manufacturing setup with a focus on equipment, utilities and/or process monitoring and control, and generally to ensure a stable production with strong quality consciousness. This includes your presence at production shop floor, driving of systematic problem solving, handling of deviations and a responsibility to ensure ongoing updating of instructions and procedures so they fulfil current GMP requirements and follow established manufacturing procedures. You will probably contribute to making us ready to respond to a growing market with more flexibility, employing Industry 4.0 solutions and standards, where automation, online sampling and real-time corrections replace other approaches.

When sudden challenges arise in our production, it will be your responsibility to ensure that action is taken so problems can be solved fast, efficiently and on the right quality level. In this way, we often get to be the people who gets everything up and running again – with the dedicated and proficient help of all our experienced operators, technicians and other supporters.

Another important aspect of the job will be to secure optimised performance of the production lines by having an unerring eye for improvement initiatives, optimization possibilities and LEAN activities within quality and productivity and that you are able to succeed with these independently, exchanging insights with other professions. You will be handling many concurrent tasks and it is therefore important that you are good at prioritizing what’s most important while maintaining focus on quality.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position, you must have a relevant education at M.Sc. level, probably within engineering or maybe manufacturing design, production management, marine engineering, automation or another related technological field. If you have also earned yourself an academic degree to gain tools for advanced data analysis, we would value experience within professions like electrician, plumber or maybe even a fitter – but for these positions, at least a BA is mandatory on top of this.

You may just have finished your studies, or you may have a wide range of experience in your field; your tasks will be planned according to your level of experience. If you have just finished your studies, you have already had a student job, an internship or the like, where you have had the opportunity to learn something about yourself in a work environment like ours. No matter which background you have, it is essential that you have solid experience with GMP. If you have knowledge of LEAN and a curious nature that enables you to understand our processes quickly, it’s an absolute advantage.

For the most experienced candidates, we expect you to be proficient in validation techniques, optimisation strategies, project management, data utilisation, audits/inspections or another discipline that have already earned you great results within the pharmaceutical industry. You are ready to be the go-to person for the most difficult challenges, once you have learned how we do things here.

No matter the level of your experience, you are quite the problem solver and you thrive in a dynamic environment where there are always more interesting issues to solve and tasks to dive into. Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to the needs of the business is a prerequisite – you will often have to navigate in a changing environment. You work independently, and you make decisions quickly without compromising quality or innovative thinking. It is required that you are outgoing and have good interpersonal and communication skills as you will be working with many stakeholders with a variety of professions. Fluency in spoken and written Danish is mandatory and in English more than just an advantage.
