Join a team of dedicated risk managers
Danske Commodities is one of the leading companies within energy trading and right now, we are looking to welcome a student employee to our Market Risk Management team. Our primary responsibility is to monitor the daily trading positions and mandates given for a specific business area and at the same time perform the daily reporting of profit and loss. We serve as partners for the business teams, ensuring risk control on positions and products through profound discussions on models and risk appetite.

You will join a team of dedicated risk managers with diverse backgrounds and nationalities, all with expert knowledge of the energy sector and risk management. The way we work is characterised by working closely together across the entire Risk Management unit and as our new team player, you will be met by colleagues who are passionate about their field of expertise and who are eager to share their knowledge with you to ensure your toolbox will be as strong as possible.

Starting in Market Risk Management
Starting out, you will get a thorough introduction to the team, your tasks and our risk framework. Your first tasks will be to get familiar with our PowerBI reporting tool and support the desk risk manager with enhancements and development on a specific project. On the longer term, you will strengthen your capabilities and become responsible for your own part of our reporting process, where you will influence content, analysis and layout.

Structured and analytical colleague
We are looking for a colleague who is studying a relevant degree within Finance, Mathematics or Economics and would like practical experience with daily and monthly risk reporting, PowerBI tools and management-level risk support on various ad hoc tasks. You thrive with having responsibility and you work in a structured manner with an analytical approach. As most of our reports and tools are built in PowerBI and SQL, we are looking for a colleague who has experience with or, most importantly, is interested in learning these programmes. The reports and tasks we create and carry out are essential to our business, both in terms of quality, transparency and deadlines, which is why we are looking for a colleague, who is reliable, structured and has a keen eye for quality.

Responsibilities

  • improve and develop PowerBI tools for monitoring
  • assist with and ultimately become responsible for daily and monthly monitoring and reporting
  • support our risk managers on various ad hoc assignments

Qualifications
We expect that you:

  • are enrolled in a relevant university degree within Finance, Mathematics or Economics, preferably with 2-3 years left of your studies
  • have strong IT skills (SQL and PowerBI skills are a big advantage)
  • are fluent in English – both written and verbal

We expect that you:

  • are eager to apply your theoretical risk management skills in the fast-paced, ever-changing world of energy trading
  • are not afraid to take responsibility – your tasks will require that you take initiative to get the job done
  • work in a structured manner – as your tasks will vary, it is important to keep a cool overview
  • provide a high level of service no matter the size of the task – the team covers a wide range of tasks and we always help each other to get the job done
