Conflict Management Compliance Officer For Surveillance & Investigation, Conflict mgt.

Embark on a journey towards the fine-tuning of our Conflicts of Interest Compliance set-up, where you will be part of establishing a new team and helping us to progress procedures, policies and collaboration in respect of the conflict management mandate.

Managing these Conflicts of Interest effectively is essential to protect the bank and our customers, as well as supporting the bank’s vision of becoming the most trusted financial partner. We are setting-up a new team to ensure that we stay on top of regulatory requirements and to enable the bank to identify, prevent and manage potential Conflicts of Interest. You will be part of and help us to form our newly established team working out of Danske Bank’s office in Høje Taastrup. This Control Room’s mandate will include: Information Barriers and Inside Information, Investment Research screening, business conflict detection / management and Personal Account Dealing.

Comprehensive oversight of the risk to the bank of potential conflict
In this role, you will be providing objective oversight, advice on the interpretation of compliance laws and regulations and support the implementation of appropriate controls by 1st line of defense functions. Pivotal in the development of the bank’s framework on conflicts of interest, the Control Room will encompass personal conflicts, market asymmetry and business conflict risk streams.

Some of your key tasks:

  • Co-operate with the business and other risk functions in the collection of data and contribute to the implementation of an effective comprehensive conflict clearance regime including providing advice on specialist topics and input into policy
  • Proactively participate in identifying assessing, mitigating, and reporting compliance risks
  • Support with selected control activities necessary to mitigate identified compliance risks, taking any necessary actions and communicating findings to management
  • Identify, escalate, and report any issues, especially where non-compliance is not addressed
  • Help with the development of business policies, processes, and procedures
  • Train staff on the conflict clearance methodologies of the bank

In this exciting role, you will see the inner workings of the bank and have mandate to help direct the business in its approach to managing potential conflicts around clients, suppliers and inside information. You will have the opportunity to develop your understanding of banking further by operating from the centre.

High integrity and a collaborative mind-set
We are looking for you, with experience in working with potential Conflicts of Interest, asking you to bring your knowledge and understanding to the table as part of this new team.

Your background:

  • A relevant master’s degree in e.g. finance, economics or law possibly supplemented with relevant courses.
  • 5+ years of experience working in e.g. compliance, law or audit
  • Preferably experience working in a larger corporation
  • Fluency in Danish and English, in both speech and writing.

Your success criteria includes the maintenance of a high standard of personal conduct and courtesy, acting with honesty and integrity in all personal and business dealings, high attention to detail and, strong appetite to understand and collaborate with the business to mitigate potential conflict risks.
