Hansen is seeking a proven strategic Senior Sales professional to focus on the Utilities / Energy industries within the North American Market.

To be successful in the role you must be sales-driven and a fast-moving, driven individual with a strong customer focus. You need to be confident and focused on delivering on your goals. We are looking to change our market profile with this role and therefore expect candidates who are proven performers with high expectations of themselves and of us. Industry experience and a very solid track record of successful sales into this market will be required. The role will involve driving sales activities from initial prospect identification to deal closure. To effectively manage this process, the appointed individual should be comfortable with direct customer consulting and opportunity development. The role will provide a fair amount of autonomy and therefore a highly motivated approach to generate revenues and achieve individual sales targets is essential.

Key Performance Indicators for this Job:

  • Identification, qualification and closure of opportunities to secure North American Regional growth.
  • The development, management and articulation of market propositions.
  • Achievement of defined revenue and sales targets.

Job Duties:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies and plans in order to achieve sales targets
  • Drive revenue through discovering, prospecting and creating new business
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of sales Leads; working with the Marketing and Business Development teams to drive lead generation and awareness
  • Progress Opportunities, building deep relationships and identifying the right decision makers and influencers needed to close deals.
  • Develop, lead, and deliver sales pitches and presentations; clearly differentiating the Hansen products from the competition and creating a compelling value proposition.
  • Prepare and deliver internal presentations for bid review and approval.
  • Lead RFP response opportunities; negotiate commercial agreements; and close new deals.
  • Represent Hansen at industry forums and exhibitions / tradeshows.
  • Work and help develop Hansen partners to expand business within assigned territory
  • Support the sales planning process and forecasting
  • Document plans, activities and opportunities accurately in the CRM system
  • Identify product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • 10+ years of sales experience
  • 5+ years of experience selling to Utilities (Electric, Natural Gas, Water / Wastewater) and other Energy market participants (e.g. Retailers, Solar)
  • 5+ years of experience selling Billing, CIS, data analytic, and related software products
  • Demonstrable sales successes in the past 3+ years
  • High energy and motivation for sales
  • Experience selling to medium to large companies; good at multi-tier selling, building strong C-level relationships (basically good at figuring out who the decision makers are and getting to them)
  • Strong relationship skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and CRM applications (Dynamics, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

The role will be based in New York City at the Hansen office located in the Empire State Building but the individual can be based out of any geographical area in the US. You must have full working rights in the USA to be considered, sponsorship will not be offered.
