About the department:
Global Medical Affairs, Obesity Care Optimisation is a growing area responsible for building and delivering consistent scientific communication on all phases of clinical trials. The department is responsible for liraglutide 3.0 mg, a once-daily GLP-1 analogue approved for weight management, as well as a number of early and mid-stage obesity pipeline projects.

The Position
As an Associate Global Medical Director, you will be part of a highly motivated team of medical doctors with clinical, research and/or pharmaceutical experience, who are passionate about clinical drug development, scientific dialogue, medical education and communication. You will be working on a range of projects supporting both commercialized and pipeline products.

In the position as Associate Global Medical Director, you will provide timely, accurate and credible scientific and medical input for a variety of projects. Your main tasks involve effective collaboration and communication with medical doctors who are Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within their field of expertise, and internal stakeholders from Marketing, Patient Access, Global Development, Regulatory Affairs and other functional areas in the company.

With a background as a medical doctor you will be trusted to provide medical input and support to clinical trials and at later stages drive the scientific dialogue based on the results from these trials. The job will give you the responsibility to connect with KOLs to gather medical and scientific information to help optimize product development and treatment of patients. You will play a key role in the development of publications based on our clinical trial results requiring your ability to interact with authors, statisticians, medical writers, and other stakeholders. Furthermore, you will support the development of internal and external medical education and guidance materials. The position involves presentations of data and participation in international conferences and scientific meetings. Additionally, you will guide other teams that are actively involved in development and execution of Novo Nordisk's commercial strategy including market development activities and development promotional materials.

It is within the role to be stand-in for the Global Medical Director and organize selected tasks across the team independently. You are expected to be able to make decisions and set direction on behalf of Global Medical Affairs.

You must be Medical Doctor with at least 5 years of clinical, research or pharmaceutical industry experience. A Ph.D. degree is considered as an advantage, but is not mandatory.

You are extrovert and results oriented, you thrive in a dynamic setting with a high level of complexity and have solid problem-solving capabilities and a positive attitude. You have good presentation and training skills, as well as excellent collaboration and communication skills. You are fluent in both spoken and written professional English.

As a person, you have empathy and a good sense of humour, while acting as a true team-player in a very international and engaged environment. International travel of approximately 20% every year should be expected.
