FLSmidth is looking for an experienced and international HR leader to head our Europe, North Africa and Russia HR team.

About the role
Reporting to our Chief HR and HSE Officer, you will lead our Europe, North Africa and Russia (ENAR) HR team. The region consists of around 2500 employees working in 25 locations. In your role as Head of HR for ENAR, you will drive the HR agenda within the geography ensuring that the HR initiatives support the business goals. You will be part of the global human resource leadership team and the regional management team. You will lead an HR organization of about 30 HR professionals with different backgrounds based across the region. Six (6) HR senior professionals report directly to you and support industry, region and group functions across the geography. Your focus is to ensure the business receives quality and timely HR support which increases the overall business performance and growth.

About the department
As Regional Head of HR, ENAR, you will be a part of the HR Leadership Team which includes the other regional HR heads, Group HR, and Group HSE. You will join a team of passionate and experienced HR Professionals that are focused on developing and driving HR initiatives to support the achievement of FLSmidth’s business goals and objectives through leadership.

Your responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic partner to the Regional President and trusted advisor to the regional leadership team by actively participating in the region management team, supporting in defining and executing the regional strategies and business plans; may also support industry and group function leaders
  • Facilitate the involvement of HR in the decision-making process and represent HR policies, Group strategic areas of focus, and values in the business setting
  • Lead the regional HR team and support them in driving the strategic HR initiatives
  • Ensure HR initiatives and tools are implemented within the region in accordance with FLSmidth’s business and HR strategy
  • Foster a culture that embraces change and promotes transparent communication, high performance and innovation

Your qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in preferably Legal, Business Administration or Human Resources Management
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with a minimum of 3 years managing people in multiple countries and having lived and worked in multiple countries
  • Experience in HR managing a region or a division in a matrixed environment
  • Proven track record working with, and advising management on: Compensation, Benefits, Staffing, Training and Development – an experience as a specialist is an advantage
  • Ability to prioritise work, coordinate multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with employment law and labour relations from several European countries is a must – Germany or Russia is an advantage
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team of highly experienced and skilled professionals
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage
