WTG Package Manager

We are currently seeking a candidate to join our WTG Project Engineering team as WTG Package Manager. In this role you will be responsible for project managing all aspects required for the successful WTG delivery during the execution phase of new wind farm projects.

The Engineering department is the technical know-how centre within Business Area Wind, setting the standards and guidelines as well as being embedded within our projects, both through the development and execution phase as well as in operations.

Working within the WTG Engineering department in Offshore Engineering, you will work with a variety of stakeholders especially in Offshore, Project Delivery and Wind Farm Design (WFD), to ensure strong project management on WTG Projects and Products.

Key Responsibilities:
As part of the WTG Engineering Department you will be fully deployed in our asset projects, where you will manage the WTG package in a specific project. You will be responsible as Package Manager to:
• Provide strong and visible HSE leadership by embedding Vattenfall’s safety culture in the execution of the WTG package
• Support the Technical Project Manager and Project Director, to lead the assigned WTG Package in an open and transparent way
• Proactively support the solution of issues both technical and resource related
• Ensure the project is executed within the needed business case and be a strong anchor to drive LCOE reductions
• In cooperation with your colleagues, you will lead and manage the execution and delivery of WTG Packages within Offshore projects until handover to operations.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for:

• handling project-related contractual, planning, cost control and technical communication with subcontractors
• overall contract responsibility for the Turbine Supply Agreement
• ensuring fulfilment of technical requirements and aligning with the technical authority on deviations from the same
• budget, time plan, quality and risk for the deliverables of the WTG Package in the context of the overall project including reporting and working with the Technical Project Manager, Project Director and other package managers.
• managing project-related activities required within the field of WTG such as stakeholders, sub-suppliers and technical deliverables
• managing TDD3, manufacturing/installation surveillance/audits, commissioning, documentation and subsequent handover to O&M, including general follow-up
• cooperating with your colleagues in the Wind Farm Design, Project Delivery and Engineering departments, the O&M team, WTG department manager and team leads.

Besides this you are able to manage the assigned specialists from WTG in the project, who can be both internal and external engineers.

The role requires the following profile:
• You have a Project Management Background and/ or Preferably an engineering university degree (M.Sc. or PhD) with a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience within wind/ or energy, managing large scale projects.
• Relevant experience with project management, preferably you have a Project Manager certification such as IPMA or similar.
• Knowledge about project planning and coordination, design, specification, test and documentation of WTG preferable for offshore environment.
• As we operate in an international environment, it is essential that you speak and write English fluently. Moreover, you have strong communication skills and are able to communicate well with representatives from various professional groups, external business partners and colleagues.
• Experience as package manager or strong project management experience
• You possess a positive mind-set, see opportunities with a “glass half full” approach to your work.
• You are a highly motivated and communicative with enthusiasm and see team work as the right way to achieve
• You have proven skills in dealing with issues, problems and challenges and can transfer technical and/ or project challenges into solutions.
• Have a strong personal drive and ability to create partnership both with external suppliers and internal stakeholders, where team mindset is key to success
• Can take a leading role in order to achieve results and take ownership of the solutions.
• You are comfortable with in a changing environment, dynamic organization and an international perspective
• You show a proactive approach towards stakeholders and will be able to make and implement decisions effectively.
