Core Responsibilities
• Support future growth ambitions commercial strategy by taken a Processing Lead role in a newly established Engineering & Quality project team dedicated to a new product launch
• Support and provide input to tradeoff discussion and decision to ensure the best setup between external sourcing and internal manufacturing
• Support the development of the Processing platform needed to produce this new product line at external suppliers – spare and co-own technical specifications and documentation
• Technical owner of the equipment, machines and lines being developed for external manufacturing partners
• Support development and execution of project related Processing roadmap

Processing Special Novelty Development is responsible for developing and manufacturing production equipment needed for producing new LEGO Bricks with speed, effectiveness and efficiency. This responsibility includes cooperating with Product Design organizations, other Engineering department as well as the global manufacturing sites. This is a team of 13 employees located in Billund. The team consists of Portfolio Managers, Technical Project Managers and Equipment Developers (Mechanical Engineers).

The role as R&D Engineer is supporting our ability to realize and produce new element (LEGO Brick) designs, specifically needed to realize a commercially highly prioritized new project. Accordingly, you will work closely together with a dedicated team from the entire Engineering organization, but also have close daily contact with a few team colleagues also dedicated to the project.

Do you have what it takes?
The ideal candidate has preferably a Master’s Degree and a minimum Bachelor’s Degree within Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering along with mutiple years of experience working with development and implementation of production equipment needed for mechatronic devices/products (preferable from consumer electronics industry). In addition we expect that you have:

• Solid understanding and experience working with handling and assembly of technology plast components
• Experience in the principles of Design for Manufacturing, Design for Quality, Design for Assembly and Design for Automatic Assembly – including risk assessments, customer requirements analyses etc.
• Experience in defining and executing test and validation strategies – both inline and offline
• +3 years of experience in using 3D CAD software (preferable Siemens NX) as well as 2D drawing and documentation
• Deep and proven understanding of equipment documentation and specification, machine directives and general laws and legislations for machine builders and manufactures

You bring a disciplined and self driven personality, with a problem solving attitude and a great eye for details. You communicate well across functions and levels – both oral and written and in English. You are curious about manufacturing technologies, production principles and machine design in general and it will be an advantage if you have experience working as a platform or technology owner as well as experience in working closely with suppliers.
The role requires the ability to travel up to 60 days per year.
