How cool would it be to influence the design and models of new LEGO® bricks?
In this role you will be in the front end of the development of LEGO® products and play experiences for the future.

Core Responsibilities
• Ensure full utilization of current Processing capabilities to support the development of new and innovative LEGO® bricks and building experiences
• Decide on and mature new processing equipment solutions for complex novelty elements requiring processing (decoration, assembly or special handling) and prepare for downstream execution
• Manage part of the Processing Front End portfolio and ensure progress in terms of milestone planning, business justification and risk assessment
• Support and drive improvement activities in the team and across the value chain to further achieve productivity, efficiency and effectiveness

Processing Special Novelty Development is responsible for developing and manufacturing production equipment needed for producing new LEGO® bricks with speed, effectiveness and efficiency. This responsibility includes cooperating with Product Design organizations, other Engineering departments as well as the global manufacturing sites. This is a team of 13 employees located in Billund. The team consists of Portfolio Managers, Technical Project Managers and Equipment Developers (Mechanical Engineers).

The role as Front End Processing Equipment Specialist is supporting our ability to realize and produce new complex elements (LEGO® Brick) designs and new play experiences.

Do you have what it takes?
The ideal candidate has preferable a Master’s Degree, but minimum Bachelor’s Degree within Mechanical Engineering, Technical Product Design and Development or similar engineering field. You have +3 years of experience in using 3D CAD software (preferable Siemens NX), 2D drawings and documentation and a sound and proven theoretical understanding of mechanics and technical design principles. In addition, we expect that you have:

• Understanding of product development and methods such as Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly and Design for Quality
• Experience with developing production equipment (preferable for the consumer good industry)
• Solid theoretical and practical knowledge of development models such as V-model
• Experience with defining and executing test and validation strategies
• Understanding of moulding processes and how to develop and produce plastic parts

You bring a self driven, opportunistic and innovative personality, with a problem solving and persistent attitude. You have good communication skills and are used to interact across functions and levels in a organization. You speak English – both oral and written and if you have knowledge about machine assembly and part manufacturing (3D Printing, CNC milling, electrical wiring, PLC programming etc) it will be an advantage.
