Qualifications
- Advanced graduate degree (e.g., master’s degree, MBA, PhD, etc.), with excellent academic record
- Proven expertise in one or more functions related to operations, such as manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, product development, implementation, service operations, or infrastructure, including Industry 4.0 topics
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
- Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English and the local language
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Location flexibility and excitement to take on longer international assignments
Who You'll Work With
You’ll be based in one of our European locations and working with McKinsey’s Operations Practice in Europe. This practice assists clients in overcoming complex operational challenges. Blending strategic thinking with hands-on practicality, our teams of consultants and experts work to develop and implement operational strategies to solve our clients’ most critical problems.
In addition to working directly with clients, you will also work with colleagues in our worldwide Operations Practice to develop and refine our approaches while expanding your own knowledge and skills. You will contribute your personal ideas and experiences to the job – thereby helping our clients achieve competitive success and helping us continually renew our expertise.
What You'll Do
You’ll work with colleagues and clients from a wide range of business areas across Europe to develop innovative solutions that support clients’ business objectives and give them a competitive edge.
You will be part of a team and take responsibility for your own part of the problem solving. You will play a key role in gathering data and contributing to the team's recommendations, and you will work directly with senior client executives. You will also have a voice in determining the team's style and pace of work.
No week will be equal to another. From gathering and analyzing data, to interviewing stakeholders or presenting your findings to clients, the range of industries and business issues to which you will be exposed will mean that you are constantly acquiring new skills and experience. Your ideas and opinions will be encouraged and valued from day one.
You’ll also gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm. Consultants receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues on their teams.
