Terma is looking for an engineer with a background in System Administration and focus on Cybersecurity for a service provided to our customer EUMETSAT.
The Generic Infrastructure and Systems Division (GSI) which is part of the Technical and Scientific Support Department (TSS) takes care of the maintenance and further development of the complete operational ground segment computer infrastructure. This infrastructure includes computers, Storage Area Networks, local network equipment, wide-area networks and all the software that is needed to run EUMETSAT’s satellite’s missions on a 24x7 basis.
Currently all level of system administration support for those systems are provided by the Computer and Storage Management (CSM). The increasing robustness of standardised hardware and Commercial Off-the-Shelf Software (COTS) components and the consolidation of the market have led to a situation where corrective and preventive maintenance tasks can be carried out using industry standard procedures and best practices.
You will be working for Terma's engineering team at EUMETSAT as IT Computer and Security Engineer, part of CSM (Computer and Storage Systems). Some of the tasks will be:
- Responsible for security related tasks within CSM for Offline and Online environments
- Supporting GSI Security team in a different activities and projects
- Responsible for implementation of security controls (including tuning of operating system parameters and other software) in accordance with the EUMETSAT security policy
- Working together with Eumetsat security team to solve many security vulnerabilities on various systems, including OS, system sw COTS and databases
- Coordinating of security related matters (compliance of new systems, patching activities, anomalies, engineering changes) within CSM
- Design of secure computer architectures
- Administration of various security solutions
- Responsible to address security-related anomalies in an end to end manner (identify, raise anomaly, investigate, implement/coordinate remediation, track status, close and report)
- Creating reports on the ongoing security cases
- Stand-by/on-call support activities,
- Implementing on-boarding of CSM systems to EUM CyberArk
What you should bring:
- University degree in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in IT Security and System Administration;
- provision of IT services according to ITIL best practices;
- very good knowledge and experience in security (principles/concepts, secure architecture/protocols, implementation of security controls, tools, etc.);
- expert knowledge and significant work experience of Linux operating systems (RedHat and SLES) as well as good command of Microsoft Windows;
- good knowledge and experience in VMware virtualization;
- good IT system design skills;
- good troubleshooting skills incl. root cause analysis;
- experience in the area of End Point Protection (anti-malware, host IDS/IPS, etc.), Central Log Management, authentication systems, Firewalls;
- disaster recovery strategy;
- good understanding of incident and problem management;
- technical documentation skills;
- experience in an operational or production environment, characterized by custom applications in addition to standard software,running both on the client and server side, and by high availability requirements
