Your Role and Responsibilities
To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Serve as the overall technical lead and single point of contact for client-facing Garage engagements that include a broad range of cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Cloud Foundry, Container Security, Red Hat technologies (OpenShift, Ansible, RHEL, etc.), and IBM Cloud Paks
- Own the solutions architecture plan while being a “hands-on” builder or developer in a client-facing engagement
- Ensure that the solution architecture includes sufficient provisions for security and reliability, while covering customer pain points and anticipated future needs
- Perform engagement management duties to ensure streamlined communications and ownership of tasks for one or more Garage engagements
- Champion an entrepreneurial mindset and deliver unique value by leveraging industry and technology expertise to drive innovative strategies to accelerate clients’ success
- Continuously expand essential business, industry, technology, and competitive knowledge
What role specific skills should you have?
- Cross-functional knowledge of numerous technology areas including OpenShift and Cloud Platforms, Agile Integration, API Management, Application Modernization, DevOps, Edge, IOT, Messaging, Satellite, Process & Network Automation and Mainframe Modernization.
- Broad understanding of both public cloud and on-premise infrastructure (network, storage, security, edge) and infrastructure orchestration. Understanding of administration of all of these.
- Knowledge and practical experience of other application platforms both traditional and cloud native.
- Understand where modernization can be used across applications, integration, data, infrastructure and practices to inflict positive impact for the business and to recognize the patterns that work and the pitfalls to avoid.
- Ability to Design and document the solution MVP architecture with best practices and asset reuse, including scoping the solution projects to address key architectural concerns and feasibility.
- Capable of leading a technical team through implementation of IBM software technologies and platforms.
- Applying Agile and DevOps technologies and practices in the MVP projects.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• At least 5 years of experience leading customer-facing technical solutions teams in cloud native, hybrid, and multi-cloud solution architecture and development
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Kubernetes, Docker, Cloud Foundry, Container Security Red Hat technologies (OpenShift, Ansible, RHEL, etc.) and IBM Cloud Paks OR demonstrated deep technical expertise in a cloud-related solution domain such as Data / Analytics, Data Science, Security, or other cloud native, hybrid, or multi-cloud technology
• At least 2 years of developing collaborative client relationships
• At least 2 years using agile practices
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience in architecting/deploying/operating solutions built on AWZ, Azure, IBM Cloud, or Google Cloud
8-10 years as a Solution Architect or an IT/multi-cloud consultant
