Cyber Security Specialist
VELUX Group
At the VELUX Group, we give you the chance to grow. To shape your own career. To work in an international environment. To be part of a company that leads the market in sustainable indoor living. We offer you a world of opportunities – if you have the ability and the drive to take them.
Are you an expert in IT & Cyber Security with profound practical experience in security assessments, risk assessments and/or risk management practices? Are you a strong communicator and can you advise on our security best practices, guidelines, and standards across VELUX, helping colleagues to build secure solutions? Do you want to impact the future IT security solutions across our global organisation?
At the VELUX Group we are on a very ambitious growth and digitalization journey impacting all company areas covering e.g. customer service, IOT and complex hybrid application landscapes and we are looking for a skilled, new colleague to join us in the position as Cyber Security Specialist ensuring that security threats are accounted for and taken seriously throughout our IT projects being implemented across the organization.
Your challenges
Joining us, you will report directly to our Director of IT Security and team up with 6 skilled colleagues in an informal and energetic atmosphere where commitment, thoroughness, humour and mutual respect represent our core values.
You will act as a trusted advisor to Group IT enterprise and business architects and work with them and our outsourcing partner to ensure that solutions are designed and implemented according to requirements. Utilizing your specialist knowledge, you will not only put forward requirements but also challenge and develop the solutions put forward by our colleagues in Group IT, our outsourcing provider, etc.
Specifically, your tasks will include:
- Providing advice on IT security in all kinds of IT projects – from early specification of requirements to the technical implementation. This means collaborating across our global organisation on how to make our cloud, on-prem and IoT solutions more secure, striking the right balance between IT security and business efficiency
- Working with Enterprise Architects and Solutions Architects on finding practical solutions for how to translate our security principles into a technical set-up, select and design solutions and adapt our existing architecture and road maps when needed
- Conducting and assisting others in performing security assessments related to acquisition, development and major changes in the VELUX Group application and infrastructure landscape
- Supporting the IT Security Risk team regarding cyber security aspects in risk assessments
- Perform Threat Intelligence assessments
The job will send you travelling internationally approx. 20 days a year, and depending on where you reside, you will be based at one of our offices in Hørsholm, Kolding or Østbirk.
Your qualifications
We imagine that you bring some years of experience within information security. You have a solid technical foundation and maybe even an educational background in IT and relevant security/risk certifications, e.g. SSCP or CISSP, CISA, CRISC or the like. Most importantly, you bring practical experience in security assessments, risk assessments and/or risk management practices.
You are an adept consultant or advisor and a team player at heart and with your profound communication skills, you communicate risks and technical knowledge in a structured, convincing, and easily understandable way. The key to your success is your ability to ’sell the message’ upwards and downwards in the organisation to many different business and IT stakeholders.
With your outgoing personality, your collaborative and adaptive approach, and your technical know-how, you easily convince and earn the trust and respect from your stakeholders across professional spheres and management levels in the organization. You are self-driven and structured, and you can successfully run your own projects from start to finish. Additionally, you hold strong analytical skills and take a data driven approach to problem solving.
As you will be working with international stakeholders, you must communicate fluently in English – verbally and in writing.
Moreover, we hope that you:
- Have some practical experience with the more technical security aspects related to endpoints, infrastructure components, networking, cloud solutions and application security solutions
- Have consulting experience and experience with several of the IT security and risk standards e.g. ISO 2700x, NIST CSF and CIS and ensuring compliance with these.
