Core Responsibilities
Join our culturally diverse team where you will collaborate with the product organization, UX designers, and software engineers to deliver new functionality and iterative improvements to frontend and backend services.
• Build scalable services on AWS using TypeScript, Node.js, Lambda and much more.
• In our mind, test-driven development and test automation shall be in every developer’s daily practice. You will build unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to verify solutions and maintain consistently high software engineering quality.
• Build reusable UI components using React.
• Participate in code reviews and focus on sharing knowledge other colleagues.
• Coach and mentor other software engineers within the team with scope to branch out more widely if desired.
• Identify and resolve scalability and performance issues.
• Support our services running in production with a “we build it, we support it” mindset.

We are a new team developing the services, tools, and workflows that enable a unified experience for B2B Customers when interacting with the LEGO Group. Our vision is to fully integrate our customers’ experience by bringing together disparate workflows, technologies, identities, and content.
The tech stack across the department is broad, though we primarily rely on the following - JavaScript (Node.js + React), GraphQL, Serverless, AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, Kinesis etc). You don’t have to be an expert in all of these technologies, but we do expect you to learn them with time.

Do you have what it takes?
You either have a degree in a technology or engineering field or equivalent hands-on experience contributing as a full stack or backend engineer. We are looking for knowledge and ability to articulate ideas and concepts to your team and the wider organisation.
• You’re experienced at building distributed systems in the cloud at scale.
• You’re experienced with CI/CD workflows, and an advocate for automation.
• You’re an excellent collaborator and communicator and you love building exciting products as part of a team.
• Empowering and mentoring is important to you and you love teaching your skills and approaches to others.
• You’re an excellent problem solver who is not fixed on technology but looks at how to craft the best solution. You love a technical challenge and filling in the dots to ensure that all requirements are understood and then delivered.
• You have excellent spoken and written English skills
It wouldn't hurt if you knew about
• Event driven systems and architectures
• Infrastructure as code
• Handling user identity and federation with SAML/OIDC
• Microfrontends and module federation
• Frontend state management using Redux
