As Global CLS Manager for the Powder Handling Customer Lifecycle Support (CLS) you will be part of the business unit ‘Powder Handling COC’, which is designated as a strategic and fast-growing business area. As Global CLS Manager you will be supporting the customers with detailed knowledge on how to improve the performance of their Powder’s systems in the production line.

You will be part of a newly formed group in The Powder Handling CLS team with the goal of unlocking the potential of GEA’s large install base within Food, Dairy, Pharma, Chemistry etc. plants that span the globe. The CLS group sits within the larger Dairy and Food Ingredients Department that has over 130 employees, and some of the foremost experts in the design and construction of dairy and food etc. ensuring support and knowledge is never far away.

Responsibility and tasks
As Global CLS Manager, you will be responsible for the management of sales projects between 1-10 million DKK in collaboration with local GEA offices and partners. You will work to find the right customer specific solutions based on the customers’ current process bar and plant specifications. Determining the right drying solution for a customer will require you to carry out product test work, cost and sales setting, preparation of quotations as well as final contract negotiations with customers.

In your new role, you will help building a new structure for the department including determining what processes that are required to do so. It is vital that knowledge about processes, technology etc. is mapped in the systems, allowing GEA to move away from individual knowledge to everyone being able to access the necessary knowledge through Access databases. The goal is to reduce the gap between technology and sales by ensuring that the individual can see the possibilities. In addition to inquiry related work, building relationships with customers is key.

Your primary tasks will be to:

  • Provide technical day-to-day support to the new sales department initially and investigate the customers' need for replacement, upgrade, modernization, revamping and possibly an audit
  • Work closely with customers and drive GEA’s relationship and customer focus. We will ensure that you are supported by an experienced team of internal experts in technology centers, application development and project execution
  • Be involved in activities to strengthen our long-term business growth and market position. This involves exploration of new business opportunities and implementation of strategic initiatives as set up by the management

Your professional qualifications:
To succeed in the role as Global CLS Manager at GEA, you will need the following professional qualifications:

  • An educational background and deep technical knowledge within engineering (dairy, food, pharma, chemistry, mechanical or process engineering). Alternatively, you are recent graduate with a flair for IT and technology
  • Experience within sales or a strong mindset in working with commercial sales and the ability to build customer relations
  • You have a systematic approach to your work and the ability to clarify the right conclusions
  • You have experience with process work, project management and management of projects as well as the interest and experience to work with databases
  • You have strong technical understanding, and you are able to familiarize yourself with the customers’ needs
  • You will be working worldwide with customers and therefore you need to possess cross-cultural understanding to plan and carry out complex sales processes internationally and handle negotiations independently
  • You have a strong financial understanding and deliver high-quality solutions
  • Speak and write English effortlessly and thrive working in an international environment with English being the company language at GEA. It is a big advantage if you speak Danish and German as well.
  • You are fully familiar with IT as a natural working tool and its many communication/presentations possibilities
  • You have the flexibility to travel around up to 40 days a year to visit customers and partners

Most importantly, we are looking for a proactive person who is a strong communicator with a high drive and a strong sense of independence. A person who has a solution and relationship-oriented sales mindset paired with a set of strong technical and problem-solving skills – you never know what kind of requests that customers come up with.
