Vestas Power Solutions is the R&D function of Vestas. Through innovation, development and continuous improvement we develop the products and technologies that reduce the cost of energy and bring the highest possible value to our customers and to Vestas. To put it short: Vestas Power Solutions develops the sustainable power systems of the future.

Within the business unit Vestas Power Solutions, the department Converter & Electrical Module is responsible for technology and product development of frequency converters, their control, and high-voltage transformers, switchgear and cables. Predominantly for use within the wind turbine but also for use outside & beyond the wind turbine, ie. within a plant. The department consists of several Sub Modules, specific to each of the electrical components, as well as a complementary "Electrical Balance-of-Plant Apparatus" function.

This eBoP-A department is responsible for solutions for main circuit LV & MV equipment, by internal design or external contracting. Applications involve - but are not limited to - electrical front-end to electrolysis for power-to-gas or batteries for bulk storage. Activities range from conceptualisation, via procurement analysis and design to prototype demonstration & verification. Focus is initially on small series to support business development with a view to enable high volume.

As Project Technical Lead, you will report to the eBoP-A Sub-Module Owner, and guide team members located in Denmark, Portugal, India and China. Furthermore, your responsibilities include to:

• Take ownership for system architecture to define project scope of supply, set and adhere to project quality metrics

• Ensure timely communication with project sponsors and clients

• Effective stakeholder management and identification and management of stakeholder requirements
• Direct a multi-disciplinary design team through the project's technical content

• Organize and facilitate planning & statements-of-work

• Engage with people managers to ensure competencies and staffing

• Continuous liaison with Vestas’ business development, sales & service teams

M.Sc. or B. Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems including minimum 5 years of relevant experience in multi-disciplinary design, demonstrating system-level overview

• Working knowledge of electrical power (LV & MV) equipment, industrial controls, liquid and air cooling, electrical and functional safety

• Specialisation in technologies such as power electronics, HV engineering and automation etc. is beneficial

• Experienced with systems engineering processes throughout the internal procedures for product development

• Experienced with stakeholder management spanning full value chain and customer interactions

Additional information
Your work location will be at Vestas Power Solutions Headquarter in Aarhus, Denmark.

You can expect up to 20 travel days per year.
