Architect/Designer with CA Experience

BIG is looking for Architects/Designers with Construction Administration experience to work locally in the Los Angeles area. The ideal candidate has worked through all construction phases, and will bring their technical expertise to projects currently in CA. They will work closely with design teams and report to a Project Manager and Partner in Charge. This role will require travel for site visits.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Managing the technical aspects of an active BIG project
• Reviewing submittals and responses to RFI’s
• Advising on building codes, materials, and drawing interpretations
• Developing innovative solutions to technical design challenges and communicating them to project teams, clients, and consultants
• Supporting communication between project teams, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• 8+ years of architecture experience with a focus on later phases
• Proficiency in BIM and Design Technologies as required for Construction Administration
• Knowledge of building codes and construction documentation
• Understanding of all construction phases, including mobilization, permitting, site, and systems
