1/1/2025 - 31/12/2025

Your Key Responsibilities:
Molecular Biology & Plant Science:
• Perform DNA- based analyses and plant phenotyping
• Conduct plant-related assays, from seed propagation to single-cell isolation
• Perform in-silico DNA cloning and manage our construct/plasmid repository

Microscopy & Data Analysis:
• Operate confocal microscopes for sample analysis
• Process and analyze complex image data

Experiment Design & performance:
• Collaborate with researchers to design and perform plant experiments
• Troubleshoot experimental procedures and optimize protocols
• Assist in developing new experimental techniques
• Share the expertise and knowledge to other researchers in the group
• Ensure an efficient and productive data acquisition.

Lab maintenance:

  • Excel in independent work while also thriving in a collaborative research environment
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills, structured work habits, and the ability to self-plan
  • Display flexibility and eagerness to support various lab needs as they arise

Who are we?
The Plant molecular biology section's activities focus on genetic, molecular and biochemical research in the model plant Lotus japonicus as well as several crop plants such as barley, maize and wheat.

The research seeks to elucidate and understand the mechanisms behind genetic control of signal transduction, cell differentiation, developmental processes, local adaptation and plant-microbe interactions. Key research areas include symbiotic nitrogen fixation, plant perception of microbial signaling molecules, susceptibility to pathogens and colonization by symbiotic and endophytic bacteria/fungi.

What We Offer:

  • Cutting-edge research environment with state-of-the-art microscopy facilities
  • Opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking plant science projects
  • Collaborative team atmosphere with exposure to diverse scientific disciplines
  • Professional development through involvement in experimental design, troubleshooting and lab organization
  • Chance to mentor junior team members and shape the lab's future
