Research Assistant in Stratum Corneum Nanotexture based Skin Analysis - DTU Health Tech

We are seeking a research assistant with a strong engineering background for a 12-month full-time position. In this role, you will work with our dynamic team on atomic force microscopy (AFM) technology applied to skin disease diagnosis and develop AFM-based analysis methods for medical applications.
MIDAS group at IDUN Section is actively seeking a talented and highly skilled bioengineering backgrounded research assistant for an exciting full-time position lasting 12 months. As a valued member of Micro medical devices and hardware hacking-based technology (MIDAS) team, your primary focus will be on measuring nanotexture of skin samples with a high-speed dermal atomic force microscope (HS-DAFM). This pivotal role will involve collaborating closely with our dedicated team and collaborators, participating in brainstorming sessions, and contributing to the improvement and optimization of our AFM-based skin analysis system.   • Explore possibilities for diagnosing skin diseases using HS-DAFM.
  • Analyse skin samples at a cellular level.
  • Develop and optimize HS-DAFM prototypes for standardized skin diagnosis.
  • Construct a database for statistical analysis, and visualization.
  • Communicate results in a concise and clear manner.
  • Develop HS-DAFM with LabView based software.

As a formal qualification, you must have a master’s degree in engineering or equivalent.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

The period of employment is 12 months. Starting date is 1st January 2025 (or according to mutual agreement). The position is a full-time position.
