About the Role
Are you the right fit for our Future Power Solutions Team?
We are seeking a Senior Specialist to lead the optimization of power generation and energy streams onboard our containerships. This role focuses on integrating novel energy converters and storage systems, as well as rethinking and optimizing thermal energy management in modern ship designs.
This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on the future of shipping and play a critical role in decarbonizing the maritime industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage proposals and projects for new energy systems.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on thermal energy management, including steam systems.
- Qualify and pilot new technologies for deployment across the Maersk fleet.
- Act as the Machinery Lead in the cross-functional development of new ship concepts, integrating alternative fuels and novel propulsion solutions.
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- Proven experience in designing and integrating various thermal systems and media.
- Familiarity with marine machinery and systems, including propulsion layouts and onboard energy consumers.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in the maritime or energy sectors.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Energy Engineering, or Naval Architecture.
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of ship propulsion systems and onboard power management.
- Strong background in project work and project management.
- Ability to mature and develop technologies through collaboration with third parties and within a global organization.
