IT Infrastructure Architect – Design robust solutions with us
Do you want to play a significant role in bringing the Application Infrastructure Architecture in Norlys to the next level of success? Do you thrive in a constantly growing organization on a constant lookout for better ways to support our business? Then you could be the one we are looking for!
Bridge business and technology
We are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Architect to lead the design, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of our server, network, and cybersecurity for our business application platform. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our systems remain secure, reliable, and scalable as we grow. Working closely with both internal teams and external partners, you will create robust infrastructure solutions that underpin our core business applications.
Shape our future as an IT-infrastructure Architect at Norlys
You will define and document server and network configurations for both Windows and Linux environments, developing a “source of truth” for the IT Infrastructure behind our future business application stack. Security is at the core of everything we do, and you will ensure that governance and best practices are embedded in every design. You’ll coordinate with colleagues and vendors to oversee critical IT Infrastructure projects, balancing performance, scalability, and security at all times.
Because uptime is essential, you’ll be responsible for setting failover and load-balancing strategies, proactively resolving infrastructure bottlenecks, and automating repetitive tasks to reduce errors and speed up deployment. As the senior member of a small two-person team, you will mentor a junior colleague and guide strategic architectural decisions.
Work responsibility would be:
- To lead the design, maintenance and ongoing improvement of our server, network and cybersecurity
- Driving adoption of principles, guidelines, meta models etc. by setting an example
- Ensuring that documentation is updated on strategic, operational and development level according to defined guidelines and/or requirements
Security focused architect with diverse experience
You have extensive experience designing, implementing, and maintaining IT infrastructure—covering server environments (Windows and Linux), network architectures, and everything in between. You’re comfortable explaining and debating solutions with colleagues, whether that means whiteboarding ideas or presenting at team meetings. You also have a track record of working in hybrid environments (on-premises, private cloud, and public cloud), and you can seamlessly integrate Infrastructure-as-Code tools (such as Terraform or Ansible) into modern DevOps pipelines.
Security is a top priority for you. You understand the threat landscape and know how to incorporate frameworks like NIS2 to strengthen our security posture. You’ve collaborated with diverse teams in the past, translating complex concepts into clear, actionable plans for a range of stakeholders. Experience in telco, mobile, or energy sectors is a bonus.
Skills and qualifications we are looking for:
- Proven experience in with IT Infrastructure Architecture
- An in-depth understanding of server and network configurations for both Windows and Linux environments
- Business understanding and the capability to understand the business's problems, translating them to technical demands
- An understanding of modern software engineering principles and supporting tools.
- Experience with telco, e-mobility or energy sectors is a plus
