Master Data Specialist

As the Master Data Specialist, you will be a foundational member of the department of Data Office, responsible for supporting and developing master data initiatives across the organization.

You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the integrity, quality, and consistency of the organization’s core master data across business domains such as Customer, Product, Vendor, and Finance.

You will be defining data standards, collaborating with business and technical stakeholders, and supporting data governance initiatives to ensure master data is a trusted and valuable asset across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Collaboration

• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for master data within the organization, providing guidance to business and technical teams.
• Facilitate communication between business units, data owners, data stewards, and IT to ensure master data aligns with business needs and technical requirements.
• Support data migration, system integration, and data transformation activities related to master data.

Data Standards and Governance

• Support the development and enforcement of data standards, naming conventions, data definitions, and taxonomies for master data entities.
• Participate in data governance forums to represent master data interests and align practices across the organization.
• Maintain and update data dictionaries and metadata repositories for master data assets.

Data Quality and Issue Resolution

• Conduct regular data quality checks and audits to identify duplicates, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies in master data.
• Lead or support data cleansing initiatives to improve the quality of master data.
• Manage issue tracking and coordinate resolution efforts with relevant business and IT stakeholders.

Tooling and Systems

• Work with MDM platforms and tools to maintain master data repositories and workflows.
• Collaborate with IT to configure, optimize, and troubleshoot master data solutions,
• Assist in defining requirements and testing for enhancements to MDM systems.

Experience with data governance initiatives and telecoms experience is a plus.

Qualifications
As a Master Data Specialist, we expect you to have sufficient years’ experiences in data management and master data. You most likely come from an industry that prioritizes critical and valuable data assets and applies ‘just enough’ data governance.

Key expectations of the role are having great communication skills and a willingness to interact with people across the organisation to produce tangible benefits to our data initiatives.
