Functional Product Owner Procurement

Opportunity

Being part of the Procurement Platform organization, the Functional Product Owner (FPO) brings deep procurement process expertise and defines the business requirements for the development of digital procurement products in the Platform and Tech enabled transformation which will help Maersk grow its ambitions for integrating the world with integrated logistics.

The FPO team is responsible for the E2E procurement process landscape at Maersk and drives the design and adoption of transformation projects throughout the entire Maersk organization, ensuring standardization, automation, digitization, embedded control measures and operational measurements.

The FPO will be working closely with procurement teams and platform product owners located in all areas of the world. You will be part of a fast paced team where developing innovative products supports best in class procurement processes, such that we are building world class user experiences and customer journeys.

Key responsibilities

• Accountable for one or more processes including overall process design ownership down to a level 5 (SOPs, guidelines etc.)
• Along with the team of FPO(s), is responsible for a number of processes in a given domain; Maintain an overall user journey and customer journey for the end-to-end processes
• Accountable for standardization, automation / digitization of the procurement process steps
• Ownership towards the master data that gets created or enhanced through the respective processes
• Define the operational metrics that measures the success of the respective process outcomes and tracking performance
• Control Measures are established such that processes are deemed ‘well defined’, ‘repeatable’, ‘consistent’ with no high impact audit findings from internal or external auditors
• Define Business Policy Choices to be made to enable high degree of standardization to the process landscape
• Work with Platform Product Owners in ensuring User Stories are delivering the intended user, product, and business features
• Collaborate closely with procurement stakeholders to support strategic, geographic or legal requirements
• Lead functional product ideation, development and launch through developing of and delivering on business cases, realizing the benefits for system developments and enhancements

Who you are

• You have 5-7 years of procurement and process expertise gained at Maersk or similar external experience
• You apply design thinking methods in designing robust processes that can operate at industrial scale
• Your Customer Obsession means that you always start with the Customers and ensure that the process designs are always delivering great experiences
• You have high energy and you want to make a success of your own scope and help push the team forward
• You are hands-on, attention to detail, process oriented and carry a mindset of ‘learn it all’ instead of ‘know it all’
• Previous experience of Six Sigma, Lean and Green and Black belt certifications will be advantageous
• You are someone who can use your analytical and logical mindset to solve exceptionally complex problems
• You are a natural communicator, and collaborator with an Action bias
• You are excited by Technology and you embrace the Platform and Product thinking
• A track record in change management through communication and working with data-based decision making
