Senior Azure Cloud Engineer

We are looking for an experienced IT Professional who will be part of our Cloud team in Prague along with our global colleagues (Denmark/Philippines), vendors and partners in advising, building, operating and supporting our customer’s Hybrid Cloud infrastructure platform across the globe.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership, designing scalable and secure Azure-based solutions, and mentoring junior team members. Your expertise in Azure cloud technologies, combined with your strong leadership skills, will be instrumental in driving the success of our organization's cloud initiatives.
This in turn requires you to bring together the concepts of Agile, ITIL and DevOps within both a technical context and a business context so we can deliver not just what our customers want but what they need.
Your Responsibilities
- Azure Infrastructure Design and Management: Lead the implementation and management of complex Azure cloud infrastructure solutions, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity services.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure compliance with security best practices, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Automation and Optimization: Drive automation initiatives to streamline operational processes and optimize resource utilization in Azure environments. Develop automation scripts, templates, and workflows using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Establish monitoring and alerting mechanisms to proactively monitor the health and performance of Azure resources. Identify performance bottlenecks and optimization opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Deployment and Configuration Management: Configuration and operation of Azure services and solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices for security, high availability, and scalability. Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for automated deployments.
- Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Serve as a subject matter expert for troubleshooting complex issues in Azure environments. Lead incident response efforts, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, developers, and operations specialists, to design and implement Azure-based solutions. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior team members.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and best practice guidelines. Share knowledge and insights through internal training sessions and presentations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud services
- Strong expertise in implementing, and managing Azure cloud infrastructure solutions
- In-depth knowledge of Azure security services, compliance standards, and identity and access management (IAM) principles
- Proficiency in automation and scripting using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other relevant tools
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools such as Terraform or ARM templates
- Solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including CI/CD pipelines and configuration management
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and Application Insights
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and towards the customer
- Willingness to be on call
- You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies, including Windows and Microsoft technologies alongside Linux
Nice to have
- Microsoft Certification: Azure Developer Associate certification (AZ 204) or equivalent certification is highly desirable
- Experience in cloud designing
