About the role
The IT communication department currently consists of 10 people who are responsible for the overall architecture of the network, on premise Datacenters, Hybrid Cloud network design and network in our branch offices and vessels. The IT communication department is part of the “Technology & Innovation” division at DFDS which counts approx. 450 employees. In this role, you will participate in the overall network design implementation and operation.

In this position, you will cooperate with end users, project leads, developers and other teams and third parties. End users can be the crews on vessels, terminal managers, project leads, partners with whom we have service agreements.

More specifically, you can expect to meet these exciting challenges:

• Design and implement new network infrastructure designed for high availability, security, and easy operation
• Review existing Design and consider potential for continual improvement
• Participate in projects, give concrete input, handle complexity and present simplicity
• Network operation & documentation
• Vendor management
• Create work instructions for improving first level support ability to take care of operations
• Handle network incident/problems/changes according to the ITIL framework.

You will get a manager with a dynamic leadership style who will follow you closely in the initial months, as well as expect that you over time will be able to work both independently and in a team, and report weekly on either progress or the opposite.

Your manager will value a mutual, direct feedback style and on a monthly basis, there will be 1:1 meetings to ensure a healthy work-life balance and a mutual understanding of each other.

About you
We are looking for a candidate with strong knowledge of network architecture and who has the ability to operate a corporate Cisco SDWAN, Datacenter network & branch office network disciplines. Furthermore, you are a motivated team player who has the right skills to manage changing priorities.

Additionally, the ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

• A degree in computer science, data technician or related field
• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge and experience with Cisco network Concepts
• Experience working with a hybrid cloud environment
• Preferably, a Cisco CCNP/CCNA certification or equivalent knowledge and familiarity with the Azure networking suit
• Can provide up-to-date knowledge in network design, planning, implementation, and troubleshooting, with experience in managing SD-WAN, and branch networks including WIFI
• General knowledge about cloud computing, incl. designing infrastructure architecture solutions in public and hybrid clouds, as well as knowledge about infrastructure security architecture.

Last, you have great communication skills and can communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels in the organization - both those who are technically skilled as well as the colleagues who aren't.
