Your challenges

At VELUX, the strategy is clear – Modularization is part of the future, and you now have the opportunity to become part of implementing our strategy within this important area!

This exciting opportunity is anchored in our Products organization, more specifically in VINC (VELUX Innovation Center), and you will report to Senior Director of Technology & Modularization.

As our new Senior Modularization Specialist you will preferably be located at our location in Østbirk, or alternatively at our location in Skjern. You will be part of a newly established team, providing shared technologies and specialist capabilities across our product development organization.

You will play a key role in implementing the strategic direction for Modularization in VELUX, and you will play an active part of our New Product Development projects, ensuring that Modularization is taken into consideration when designing and developing new VELUX products and platforms. Alongside skilled colleagues, you will be a central participant in our modularization efforts which span across product management, product design, and manufacturing.

Moreover, your responsibilities and tasks will be within the following areas:

• Establish and maintain overviews of modules, variants, and interfaces.
• Guide and ensure the pervasive sharing of modules across product platforms.
• Guide and support development projects to work modularly.
• Be part of the continuous development of methods, tools and systems used for modularization.
• Act as a change agent for modularization in VELUX.

Your qualifications

As our new Senior Modularization Specialist, you bring a strategic mindset and you understand the big picture – and translate it into tactical views and plans. Furthermore, you enjoy operating in the mix-zone of technical and business orientated decisions.

In addition, it is essential and required that you:

• Have a Master’s degree in Engineering with minimum some years of work experience, preferably within Modularization.
• Bring experience and understanding of modularization, e.g., product structures and architectures and/or market and business requirements.
• Are experienced working on a conceptual design level, i.e. in the early stages of a Product Development Process.
• Have a very good understanding of the full value chain, i.e., market, product/technology, and production, as well as financial insights and e.g., business case calculations.
• Are an experienced user of software applications, as e.g., SAP, MS Office (PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, PowerBI).
• Have advanced written and verbal English language skills.
• You have good communication skills both written and verbally and manage to transform abstract and complicated information to a pragmatic and communicative level.
• You have the ability to build a network across different organizational levels and functions.

To capture our historical emissions, we have partnered with WWF. Through the partnership with WWF, VELUX finances forest protection and restoration projects that capture the equivalent of our historical emissions from operations since 1941 and up until 2041. The verified carbon units generated by the forest projects are retired and donated as a contribution to the host countries’ national climate target under the Paris agreement.
