(Senior) Project Finance Manager

We are looking for a structured and detail-oriented (Senior) Project Finance Manager to make an impact that matters.

You will be joining of our growing Finance department currently consisting of 70+ colleagues and become part of the team responsible for Debt Partnerships and Structuring which handles all aspects of debt liabilities across the Better Energy Group. Together with our colleagues handling equity partnerships, we are responsible for optimising all aspects of the balance sheet liabilities of our solar parks and the overall group.

Better Energy is facing tremendous growth over the coming years and our focus is on securing project financing and equity investments, to keep up with the high demand for solar parks. Our business model covers the entire value chain of adding new green energy to our electricity grids. This is why an important part of realising our solar parks is the financial aspect which is the key focus point of the Debt Partnership & Structuring team.

How you will make a difference in Better Energy
Your primary focus will be to secure the best debt terms for Better Energy and will be handling and assisting with the continuous dialogue we have with financial institutions across Scandinavia, Germany and Poland. Your important role will be to ensure that decisions made with respect to our financing are carried through in a swift and efficient manner.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Developing new or optimising existing project finance facilities as well as overall corporate financing facilities in accordance with Better Energy’s overall capital structure.
• Participating in debt term negotiations with banks/financial institutions both at the initial term sheet stage as well as the long-form documentation.
• Assisting in preparation of ancillary documents to loan agreements.
• Preparing decision material for executive management.
• Assessing the creditworthiness of potential sales partnerships (e.g. through PPAs, CfDs or alternative).
• Developing, maintaining, and operating financial models in Excel.
• Assisting in taking project to financial close.

So, who are we looking for?
The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, organised and have good business judgement and analytical skills. You enjoy engaging in dialogues with new people and you thrive in an environment with many stakeholders but at the same time able to work independently.

Furthermore, you are excited to learn from and adapt to an ever-changing industry with a passion for accelerating the green transition.

Additionally, we find it important that you possess the following competencies:

• You have approximately 3-6 years of experience in structured finance/project finance, ideally from a client-facing role in the financial sector; and hence are familiar with the modus operandi of the financial industry. Alternatively, you come from a similar role within the energy industry.
• Experience with loan documentation and ancillary documents hereto is an advantage but not a requirement.
• Experienced with financial modelling, but also able to put together a presentation (pptx).
• Analytical, detail-oriented & meticulous.
• We are looking for candidates with a Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or related fields.
• Professional proficiency in English.
