Core Responsibilities

  • Hard surface and organic modeling in Maya, UV mapping and mesh optimization
  • Texture mapping and projection painting for VFX and games
  • Investigate and stay updated with current and future industry standard workflows to stay innovative
  • Engage in production activities and work within agile and scrum by support and evolve workflows across projects and priorities together with teams
  • Strong communication skills and a feedback mentality
  • Actively promoting a continuous improvement culture in our team and ways of working

Our LEGO Design Organization consists of a dynamic, creative, and collaborative culture. No two projects are the same, and they all require different needs and expertise.

You will join a large international design team in Billund (Denmark), counting more than 500 creatives from various backgrounds, who are all passionate about the impact of play.

Virtual Asset Design is the basic creator of all 2D, 3D and animated digital elements. We support The LEGO Group by modeling, texturing and simplifying assets for LEGO Building Instructions, packaging, marketing and various other digital media and pipelines. This includes high fidelity rendering as well as games and other real-time experiences.

Do you have what it takes?
You probably hold a Bachelor's- or Master’s degree in a 3D related education followed by a few years of experience applying your skills. Moreover, you bring:

  • Solid knowledge of retopology and low polygon workflows as well as understanding the balance between low polygon workflows and retaining details
  • Experience with modeling and UVing using Autodesk Maya. Other software knowledge is very welcome, but Autodesk Maya is a must
  • Experience with Mari/Adobe Substance 3D Painter or similar texturing software
  • Skills in using Adobe Photoshop – experience with Adobe Illustrator is an added advantage
  • Practical knowledge of various digital pipelines in the industry
  • Skills in rigging is (highly desirable)
  • Team-orientation with a strong appreciation for diversity and different cultures

Experience withing the game industry and knowledge about Unreal and Unity game engines is an advantage.
