In Personal Banking COO we optimise operational efficiency through four key areas: Business Service Delivery Management, Application Management, Portfolio Management and Management Oversight

Data Privacy Risk Management in Personal Banking COO is a newly formed team within the first line of defence of Nordea, established to gather the data privacy related improvement initiatives in Personal Banking and to keep the bank safe and trusted by safeguarding personal data. We add value by providing a solid foundation for governance, management and continuous improvements of Data Privacy in Personal Banking. We are the first point of contact for 2nd and 1st line of Defence in Data Privacy related topics and have strong cooperation with all business units, countries and group functions to secure operational efficiencies within the area of data protection.

As the Head of Data Privacy Risk Management in Personal Banking COO you will play a key role in setting the direction and establish this new team in the organisation by utilising your experience and expertise in the Data Privacy risk area to inspire change. You will be responsible for building and managing a team across the Nordics, and delivering on centralised data privacy risk management capabilities – as well as steering the data privacy agenda in Personal Banking and succeeding together with experts across the bank.

What you'll be doing:

• Drive and design the target operating model and service catalogue for the team
• Follow-up on legislation changes / trends and interpret these into Nordea according to our risk area structure, co-operating with internal units for implementation
• Provide high quality Data Privacy insights and oversight for Personal Banking management
• Manage and co-ordinate the Data Privacy governance wheel in Personal Banking, participating in group Data Privacy forums and development
• Communicate and influence at all levels of the organisation across Nordea, such as Group Business Support, Group Compliance, Group Internal Audit, Group Risk, other Business Areas, as well as Personal Banking countries and divisions

The role is based in any of the Nordic capitals, reporting to Head of Personal Banking COO, Tobias Willig.

In order to succeed in this role, you have:

• A strong interest and experience from Data Privacy risk area and legislation (e.g. GDPR, ePrivacy and AI)
• Superior communication and stakeholder management skills to advice and make impact on data privacy related topics
• Leaderships experience to manage and motivate a team of direct and non-direct reports
• Previous experience from working with Key Control Framework, Data Privacy policies and guidelines and Data Privacy related processes
• A strong, business-minded drive with a solution-oriented mindset
• Enjoy working in an evolving and constantly changing environment, have superior collaboration and problem-solving skills with a strong “can-do” attitude

Your experience and background:

• Strong understanding and experience from the Data Privacy risk as well as non-financial risk area as a whole (including Operational Risk)
• Extensive leadership, risk management and legal experience, ideally gained within large banks/financial industry - or from the leading consulting firms
• A good understanding of the intersection between business, technology and the regulatory space, and the challenges and opportunities therein
• Experience in delivering change, a proactive mindset and a desire to challenge, shape and enhance the entire team’s capability
