We are seeking a dynamic Senior Data Engineer to lead the development and management of our data infrastructures, which are crucial to our renewable energy projects including solar, wind, and Power-to-X initiatives. Your Team:
As a key member of the expanding Data & Analytics team within our IT department, you'll work alongside committed professionals dedicated to making our organization more data driven. Our team leverages data to drive strategic decision-making and operational excellence, ensuring data accessibility and actionable insights across the company. This is a unique opportunity to influence and shape the future of our data landscape as we transition to the most modern data stack available, enhancing our capabilities in processing, analysis, and compliance.

How you will create an impact:
As our new Senior Data Engineer, you will play a significant role in putting data on the map at European Energy. As a part of our 2026 strategy, we will double down on data, using it on our strategic roadmaps to give us a competitive edge. Data is a strategic cornerstone towards our mission to grow into a global force that champions the green transition, develop green energy solutions, and encourage the world to join the movement towards a fossil free society.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, manage, and optimize ETL processes, transforming raw data into clean, standardized datasets for analysis.
  • Ensure the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of data pipelines and architectures.
  • Enhance our analytics platform's infrastructure, focusing on operational integrity, compliance, and transparency.
  • Lead best engineering practices within the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in data processing and analytics.
  • Play a pivotal role in the upgrade and modernization of our data platform to incorporate cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.

To thrive in this position, we imagine:

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in data engineering.
  • You have expertise in data warehouse principles, as well as data and data platform architecture.
  • You are very knowledgeable in SQL and Python. Preferable you have worked with Fabric, Snowflake and/or dbt.
  • You have work experience in the cloud data frameworks in Azure, AWS or GCP
  • You have worked with data integration from and to a multitude of different systems.
  • You have a strong commitment to data security practices and understanding of regulatory compliance (GDPR, NIS2, ISO).
  • You are able to work in a hybrid environment, with a minimum of three days per week in the office, though more is preferable to foster team collaboration and engagement.
