About the role
Maersk Energy Markets (MEM) is seeking a Global Controlling Lead to join their team. As the anchor role leading a virtual team of 3, this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial control and reporting across the 9 legal entities constituting MEM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting: Ensure ledger correctly reflects the financial performance of MEM entities in compliance with international accounting standards and APMM group policies.
- Financial control: Establish and maintain robust financial controls, including internal control procedures and adherence to corporate governance standards.
- Stakeholder management: Present clear, insightful information to management and ensure key control and performance issues are addressed.
- MtM product P&L reconciliation: Perform reconciliation between product P&L and EBIT to preserve reporting integrity.
- Financial controlling lead on MEM transformation: Provide thought leadership on end-to-end processes with financial control implications.
- Compliance accounting: Develop accounting process solutions for new compliance activities.
- Liaison with core MEM functions: Maintain relationships with key MEM functions to improve processes and address control issues.
- External audit liaison: Facilitate external audits and maintain high-quality financial records.
- Trading finance accounting expert: Maintain competence in financial accounting matters.
- Lead a virtual team of 3 regional financial controllers: Provide direction, coaching, and accountability to ensure team success.
What are we looking for
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with minimum 5 years post-qualification experience
- Deep technical accounting knowledge and experience in a trading finance environment
- Experience in end-to-end trading processes and driving process improvements
- Ability to lead technical and non-technical improvement projects
- Experience providing leadership in a matrix structure
