Software Engineer - BI Architecture

The role of Software is within the Data & Reporting team. The mission of the team is to develop BEC’s management cockpit, dashboards and reports which enable and support managers on all levels, Finance, HR, and Agile Planning & Delivery areas plus other stakeholders in fulfilling their objectives by satisfying their information needs and supporting their decision-making process. The team truly contributes to BEC becoming a data-driven organization.

The role is based in our friendly office in Warsaw, and your manager will be Carsten Vestergaard Andersen. At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely

up to eight days per month.

Primary task and responsibilities include:

• Developing, operating and maintaining internal BI solution
• Creating and maintaining high quality visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards by using Power BI (Fabric).
• Developing solutions placed on Power Platform
• Developing internal data warehouse placed on Azure
• Working close with business and data domains to understand data, objectives, and information needs - advising and proposing the best solution.
• Modelling and building solution architecture satisfying both business and technical requirements.
• Creating appropriate documentation and guidelines support both use, operation, and further development of our solutions.
• Being a team player and working agile as part of a strong team with both front-end and back-end BI developers.

To succeed you will have:

• Designing BI architecture by using Microsoft technologies
• 3+ years of experience working as a Data / BI / Solution Architecture, with a track-record of translating business requirements into technical solutions
• Hands-on experience with Business Intelligence concepts, data warehousing, data modelling
• Full proficiency working with SQL, stored procedures, tables, views etc.
• Full proficiency of reporting using Power BI components including DAX, M-query, datasets, dataflows
• Working knowledge of ETL/ELT
• Experience in working with Power Platform services such as Power Apps, Power Automate
• Experience in working with Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL, security, networking
• Educational degree related to the position advertised
• Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and attention to details
• Proactive approach at work
• Fluency in English
• Nice to have CI/CD experience
