Senior Group Financial Controller Job Details | Ambu

Ambu A/S is currently looking for a Senior Group Financial Controller to be based in Ballerup, Denmark.

As a Senior Group Financial Controller, you will join the Group Controlling & Reporting team, who handles all aspects of internal financial controls, financial controlling and reporting, group consolidation and related compliance in terms of technical accounting and controlling visits.

You will report to Head of Financial Controlling & Reporting.

Key responsibilities
You will be working closely with Finance and other cross-functional colleagues in Ambu’s Global organisation both in the head office and local entities.

Your overall responsibility will be to:

• Mature, maintain and monitor the internal financial controls framework.
• Conduct controlling visit.
• Perform financial controlling and reporting for month-end, quarterly interim reports and the annual report.

The position as Group Senior Financial Controller’s primary task is expected to be focusing on maturing Ambu’s internal control framework but is also to some degree expected to be part of the financial controlling and reporting.

More specifically:
Internal Controls Framework:You will be instrumental in taking Ambu Group’s internal financial control framework to the next level as you will take lead in optimising Ambu’s Global framework, which among others comprise re-evaluating our current ‘risk and control catalogue’ and re-establishing the reporting cycle.

The work comprises all aspects within this framework, including risk assessment, evaluating the maturity of internal controls, ensuring compliance, driving governance, reporting towards various stakeholders and managing all financial processes, e.g. OTC, PTP, RTR etc.

Furthermore, you will take on responsibility to drive our transition from Excel to Ambu’s risk and compliance management tool (‘Impero’).

You will act as a trusted partner to enlighten the framework to the entities and functions across Ambu’s wider business via guidelines, best practice sharing and training.

Controlling visits:Controlling visits are to be performed during the year, which can be both via planned visits as well as ad hoc reviews.

You are expected to plan, conduct and prepare reporting associated with the controlling visit(s).

A big part of your work is performed at the Head office in Ballerup, but we believe that working face-to-face enhance the collaboration thus travelling to our entities are part of the position.

Travel days are determined by a cycle that is not yet fully established, with visits based on agreement with your manager, typically not exceeding 15 days per year.

Controlling and reporting:Participating in the financial controlling of Ambu Group’s monthly numbers including to Management and provide input for financial presentations to management and relevant stakeholders. Furthermore, contributing to the preparation of the Group’s quarterly and annual external reports.

As you mature in your role, you will also act as a reliable support and guide for the global finance organization in reporting matters.

• Experience working with internal financial processes in terms of risks and mitigating controls and/or walk-throughs “from cradle to grave”.
• Analytical and structural approach to your work but also apply logic and pragmatic thinking.
• Strong experience in accounting, able to manage complex financial reporting, ensuring compliance in a multinational environment and understanding the internal coherence.
• Basic knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
• Excellent people skills, a results-driven mindset, and a positive attitude, with the proven ability to build informal relationships, influence stakeholders, and collaborate effectively across all levels. Your open mindset and curiosity, combined with professional skepticism, enable you to deliver under pressure.
• Relevant education in accounting or auditing, e.g., master degree, bachelor degree, or equivalent.
• Reasonable flair for working in finance related IT tools and applications, e.g. Microsoft Office applications, compliance tools, reporting platforms etc.
