Associate Professor Position in Social Sustainability in Workplaces

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Professor in Social Sustainability in Workplaces to join our dynamic team in The Global Sustainable Production unit. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading our Master's program in Occupational Health Management and spearheading research initiatives focused on various aspects of psychosocial work environments. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Professor in Social Sustainability in Workplaces to join our dynamic team in The Global Sustainable Production unit. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading our Master's program in Occupational Health Management and spearheading research initiatives focused on various aspects of psychosocial work environments.

Key responsibilities

  • Program leadership:
    • Oversee the master’s program in Occupational Health Management, ensuring the curriculum remains current and relevant
    • Mentoring and supporting students, fostering an environment conducive to learning and professional growth
    • Market the education to potential students
  • Research project management:
    • Lead and manage research programs on psychosocial work environments, including topics such as workplace accidents, violence and threats, workplace assessments, harassment, and psychological safety
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement research projects that contribute to the field of social sustainability in workplaces
  • Teaching:
    • Deliver high-quality teaching on all topics related to psychosocial work environments and organizational psychology within leadership education program
    • Develop and update course materials, ensuring they reflect the latest research and best practices in the field
  • Community and Industry Engagement:
    • Establish and maintain partnerships with industry stakeholders, promoting the application of research findings to improve workplace practices
    • Participate in conferences, workshops, and seminars to disseminate research findings and contribute to the broader academic and professional community

Qualifications

  • A PhD in Occupational Health, Organizational Psychology, or a related field
  • Proven experience in teaching and research within the domain of psychosocial work environments
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of leading successful research initiatives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students and colleagues

  • Master’s and PhD degree or equivalent (copy of original/official English translation).

  • Up to 3 publications most relevant for the position (must be attached as PDF-files).
  • Teaching Portfolio.
  • Research plan.
  • List of references.
  • A statement/documentation of other qualifications relevant to the position.

All documents must be in English and PDF format, no more than 5 MB per file. Documents should not contain a CPR number (civil registration number) – in this case, the CPR number must be crossed out.

Assessment and selection process

Conditions of employment
This appointment as associate professor is temporary for 3 years, with the possibility of extension. The preferred start date is from July 1, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is for 32 hours per week.

Employment will be in accordance with the collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations for academics in the state with the associated circular on either the protocol for the job structure for the Bachelor of Engineering program and the Export Engineering program or the protocol for the job structure for academic staff at Danish universities and the provisions for associate professor as described in herein.

The person employed in the position may, based on a specific individual managerial evaluation, be exempted from time registration, also known as a “self-organiser”.
