Senior Data Engineer – Data Platform Tribe

At Danske Bank, our Data Platform Tribe within Technology Services / Data & Functions specializes in delivering centralized enterprise reporting and analytics. We leverage Data Warehouse, Hadoop, Streaming and Cloud technologies across various banking domains.

The candidate will have the opportunity to architect and implement data solutions that drive business value while working alongside experienced professionals who are passionate about data engineering. Our focus is on building, maintaining, and monitoring data pipelines for both batch processing and real-time streaming, using technologies such as SQL, Python, PySpark, Kafka, Apache Airflow, Hadoop, AWS, Databricks.
Danske Bank supports a high degree of workplace flexibility (our team is currently using a hybrid working model, where we work at least 3 days a week in the office).

This role does not include a relocation allowance.

You will:

• Design and Develop: Architect and implement robust data integration solutions and pipelines that connect multiple data sources and systems, ensuring efficient data flow throughout the organization
• Data Pipeline Management: Build, maintain, and monitor complex data pipelines for both batch processing and real-time streaming
• Data Quality: Implement data validation checks, data governance and security standards, monitoring systems, and automated testing frameworks to ensure data quality across all integration points
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs
• Optimization: Continuously improve data pipeline performance, scalability, and reliability by implementing best practices
• Continuous Learning: Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies in the data engineering space, evaluating and adopting new tools and approaches to enhance team capabilities

About you:

• You are highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with 4+ years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise grade data integration solutions
• Strong proficiency in Python/PySpark and SQL for complex data manipulation and developing scalable data processing applications
• Practical experience and understanding of streaming architecture with real-time data and streaming services like Apache Kafka
• Solid experience working with Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, Hive, MapReduce)
• Practical experience and understanding of version control best practices with CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps and GitHub
• Experience deploying and managing data workloads and data lakes in cloud environments and modern technologies like Databricks, AWS, Azure
• Experience with data scheduling and workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow
• Solid interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills
• Advanced English language skills

We offer:
This position can be located both in Denmark and Lithuania.
If you are hired in Lithuania, the applicable salary range will be from 4560 to 6840 EUR monthly (based on your skills relevant for the job).
