About the role
Maersk Fleet Management and Technology (FMT) is looking for an Environment and Regulatory Coordinator who will help shape the marine environmental policies and regulatory guidance for its global fleet.
FMT is responsible for the safe and efficient worldwide engagement of the entire Maersk fleet with 13000+ strong seafarers well supported by highly experienced teams based out of Denmark, Singapore, and India.
As part of the Fleet Environmental and Regulatory team, you will be part of these exciting times where new regulations, both international and regional, are shaping the future of ocean logistics. Green fuel technologies towards our commitment to become net-zero carbon in 2040, whale preservation, cleaner and quieter oceans, marine biodiversity and ecosystems are some of the areas where you will work alongside experts in the field and support the team to influence and implement change.
We offer
An exciting position based in Copenhagen where you will be coordinating the environmental and regulatory compliance across the Maersk fleet and ensure we have the right engagements with the right stakeholders on regulatory developments. You will report into the Team Manager Fleet Environmental and Regulatory and work alongside a team of dedicated environmental and regulatory managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the “regulatory compliance overview” to ensure the fleet always maintains 100% compliance in all the trading areas.
- Timely dissemination of regulatory advisories and maintaining an end-to-end overview, in close coordination with relevant stakeholders, for efficient implementation.
- Fleet support on all transactional environmental and regulatory matters including minor management plan updates and vessel certification changes.
- Maintain relevant environmental records on internal digital platforms or team sites.
- Data management and support on compliance related to regional and international environmental reporting.
- Responsible for periodic reporting under incentive or value based international and/or regional initiatives such as Environmental Sustainability Index (ESI)
- Coordination of diverse internal and external projects under fleet environment, ocean biodiversity, recycling & circular economy among others. This includes support with the set-up of project/initiatives overview and project reports.
- Responsible for the quarterly ocean environment & compliance newsletters, knowledge sharing articles and meets.
- Coordinate Request for Information (RFI) on Ocean Environment with Commercial Sustainability.
- Engage with other APMM environmental teams – Corporate Sustainability, APM Terminals, landside logistics and regional teams, in the creation of the Environment and Ecosystems policy architecture.
- Serve as a role model for Maersk's purpose and values.
- Foster a collaborative mindset and behavior across the enterprise.
We are we looking for
- Highly organized with an operational excellence mindset
- Data management experience
- Excellent communication skills in English, and good stakeholder management skills to engage and drive clarity before internal and external stakeholders.
- A quick learner who thrives in change and brings innovative solutions
- Ability to prioritize and perform effectively in a highly dynamic work environment.
- Some knowledge of marine regulations and environmental legislations, regulatory framework, and shipping industry experience will be highly desirable.
