Your role in our team
As our new Patent Manager, you will be an anchoring point for management of our Patents and Freedom-To-Operate (FTO) activities and work at both a strategic and an operational level. You will be collaborating with a variety of stakeholders including R&D, Product Management, and Business Areas in identifying innovation and protecting new business creation. You will also be supporting potential cases managed by Terma Legal.

You will be responsible for managing the process of issuing new patents – from evaluating patentability to drafting enforceable patents, and securing the release, e.g., by countering invalidity claims – all based on thorough patent searches and analyses of prior art. Moreover, you will be responsible for enforcing already issued patents. Finally, you will drive identification, screening, and analyses regarding FTO – and you will support assessments and management of needed mitigation action (supporting role to R&D and Product Management).

Travelling between our sites in Lystrup and Søborg must be expected.

How you will make a meaningful contribution
Your key responsibilities include:

• Drive change management towards a proactive patent strategy
• Identify innovation and protect new business creation
• Ensure continuous FTO Management
• Compliance with relevant patent laws and regulations (supporting role to legal)
• Monitoring of industry trends, competitor patents, and regulatory developments
• Expert advice to Senior Leadership
• Support efforts regarding business continuation driven by Terma Risk & Security
• Support projects with external partners, academia, and relevant Terma entities

Bring your world class expertise into play
You are fluent in English both in writing and verbal at a professional level. Danish is an advantage but not a requirement

• You hold a master’s degree in engineering or similar, preferably with certification as patent agent and/or continued education relating to area of responsibility
• You have 5-10 years of experience as a Patent Manager, Patent Engineer, Patent Agent, Patent Attorney, or similar with a strong understanding of
  • Patenting incl. portfolio management
  • FTO analyses and decision
  • Patent licensing and technology agreements (DK, EU, and Global)
  • Technical product development
  • Litigation support

As a person, you have strong leadership skills and a strategic mindset, capable of setting direction and inspiring others. With excellent communication skills, you collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. You thrive working independently, bring solid technical insight, and navigate complex topics with ease. Experience with training and knowledge sharing in an engaging and impactful way is a strong advantage.
