We are looking for a university or business school law student with a commercial and international mindset.
While the position involves an amount of admin related tasks (e.g. assisting with keeping templates updated, managing communication and information on the internal share point site etc.), for the right candidate working to a large degree independently on contracts and contract related matters will consume most of the working hours.

You will be working out of our office in Esplanaden, providing support for our Legal Department, for 15-20 hours/ week
Key Responsibilities
The Commercial and Procurement Team is a section in Maersk’s Legal Department currently consisting of 2 lawyers providing legal support to the global Maersk organization on a broad range of contractual matters and – occasionally – contractual disputes.
The position is anchored in the Legal Department at Maersk's headquarter in Copenhagen but with an extensive international reach and requires interaction and collaboration with stakeholders in the entire Maersk organisation.
The main areas of responsibility are to:
- Assist with contract advice and negotiation of all kind of vendor and vendor related contracts for the organization.
- Ability to digest sometimes complex documents, identify paint points and must haves and – ideally - translate them into simple and effective solutions.
- Draft, comment on and negotiate a variety of contracts documents.
- Administrative tasks on an ad hoc basis.
Who we are looking for
You have completed at least 2 years of study, have min 3 semesters left (this is a must-have requirement), and have experience from a law firm and/or as a student in an (international) company and/or a governmental entity.
We are looking for a candidate with the following experience and skills:
- Knowledge of Common Law is expected, at least on a basic level
- Methodical and thorough and have an ability to keep a clear mind in a busy and dynamic environment
- You can easily work with different stakeholders across cultures
- You have an excellent command of written and spoken English as well as Danish. Other language skills are an advantage but not a requirement
- Ability to perform detailed work accurately and within agreed dead lines
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
- A practical and commercial mindset
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage several tasks at the same time
